From French's Classic Yellow Mustard, long America's top-selling mustard, to its most recent innovations, such as Franks Red Hot, the company has a history rich with delicious creations made from what today would be considered “clean, simple ingredients.” To learn more please visit us at www.frenchs.com.\nPOSITION OVERVIEW:\nUnder the direction of the Safety, Health & Environment Manager, the Safety Engineer is responsible for facilitating the reduction of occupational risk through implementation of procedures and engineering processes that support Global McCormick Health & Safety policies.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nEnsuring safe practices, injury/illness prevention processes and risk management by conducting risk assessments and job safety analysis’ on plant equipment.\nResponsible for compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements, application of McCormick Health and Safety policies and procedures, establishment of best practices for the plant/facility.\nConduct industrial hygiene monitoring, air quality, noise, temperature, and/or radiation levels to verify compliance with regulations.\nInspect facility, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.\nAssist in developing lockout tagout procedures, ensuring technician compliance, training & equipment meets all machine guarding requirements.\nEnsure regulatory programs are developed and implemented (ex. Contractors, Powered Industrial Trucks, Confined Space, Chemical Management-SDS, etc.)\nLeading investigations impacting employee health and safety.\nDevelop and implement comprehensive industrial hygiene programs, including hearing conservation, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and protect employee health and safety.\nProviding SHE support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment.\nReviewing Plant processes and standards to identify potential safety concerns and confirm appropriate PPE.\nImpact safety performance of the facility through leadership and involvement with all teams.\nResolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of technical experience and review of precedents.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree in relevant field.\n5+ years safety experience with demonstrated leadership ability.\nKnowledge and understanding of OSHA and State safety regulations required.\nAdvanced knowledge of occupational safety and industrial hygiene principles, including program development, hazard assessment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.\nDemonstrated ability to understand and align safety initiatives with broader business priorities through effective collaboration with operations, engineering, quality, and leadership teams.\nBasic understanding of the industry sector in which they are operating and the impact to own function.
