As a Scientist II, R&D Packaging Development for our Condiments & Sauces category, you will assume a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable, consumer-preferred packaging solutions in North America. You’ll work with a variety of formats and materials, contributing your expertise to some of our most beloved brands including Frank’s RedHot, Cholula, French’s, and Stubb’s. Join our dynamic Packaging Innovation team, where creativity, problem-solving, and technical expertise come together to redefine the packaging landscape.\nKey Responsibilities:\nInteract across multiple levels and functions, manage project planning activities, and provide technical guidance\nRecommend package design, development, material selection, and commercialization activities\nSupport proactive packaging innovation projects that solve for unmet consumer needs and improve sustainability\nManage multiple projects concurrently with accountability to deliverables and milestones\nIndependently plan and prioritize work to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met\nApply established standards, controls, and processes\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Design, Packaging Technology, or an alternate relevant technical discipline\nMinimum of 5 years of packaging development and project management experience as part of a cross functional team within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry\nKnowledge in the areas of plastic injection molding and injection blow molding, glass, laminated structures, and paper-based materials\nCreative problem solving and solution skills; attention to detail in work\nExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and team player\nAnalytical skills to evaluate complex and ambiguous situations\nBusiness and commercial awareness; ability to influence cross-functional partners\nPreferred Qualifications:\nConsumer packaged goods background, food industry experience\nManufacturing plant experience\nExperience with ideation processes, consumer learning tools, technology analysis\nExperience with SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, C.A.P.E. palletization software\nAs a general policy, McCormick does not offer employment visa sponsorships upon hire or in the future.\nMcCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
