The role focuses on building scalable, efficient, and maintainable applications, leveraging advanced ABAP techniques and modern programming models.\nAs a technical lead, the developer collaborates closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical designs. They drive solution architecture, enforce development standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure performance optimization and clean-core principles are followed across implementations.\nThe role also involves developing advanced extensions and integrations using SAP BTP, RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP), and cloud-native approaches. Additionally, the Senior ABAP Developer mentors junior team members, promotes best practices, and contributes to continuous innovation within the SAP landscape.\nShift Timings: 01:00 - 09:30PM IST\nKey Responsibilities\nDescription\nFirst level contact for the Business Analysts for any inquiries re: application or technical support and potential technical solutions.\nAnalyzes business requirements and functional specifications to determine effective technical solutions to support the business across multiple entities (divisions, functions, countries)\nProvide technical solutions and governance for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP ABAP solutions, ensuring compliance with architecture standards, development guidelines, and best practices.\nDesigns complex solutions across multiple functions, business units, technical tools and/or systems.\nDesigns, codes, tests, and implements new application programs and/or modifies existing programs.\nConsiders trade-offs between performance, scalability, reliability, availability, maintainability, manageability and business requirements.\nProvides post implementation application support and regular system maintenance and support which will periodically require evening, weekend, and on-call support.\nSupport new project initiatives as a Senior Developer, designing and building SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP ABAP objects to meet business and technical requirements.\nAct as a senior technical authority, providing hands-on guidance, problem resolution, and design support for complex development and integration scenarios.\nMay function as Team and/or Project lead responsible for completion of project phase.\nRecommend and promote platform and industry best practices, including cloud-ready development approaches and clean core principles\nRequired Qualifications\nQualifications\nDescription\nLevel of Education and Discipline\nBachelors or Maters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\nCertification and/or Licenses\nSAP Backend Developer - ABAP Cloud\nSAP Backend Developer - Cloud Application Programming Model\nAny SAP Development Cloud related certification\nExperience - functional/industry/commercial knowledge, business acumen\n5-8 years of experience working in the SAP ecosystem (required)\n5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BTP ABAP development (required)\nProven experience delivering and governing SAP ABAP solutions in large, complex enterprise environments\nStrong hands-on expertise in:\nSAP S/4HANA ABAP development\nSAP BTP ABAP Environment\nSAP Business Application Studio (BAS)\nRESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP)\nCloud Application Programming Model (CAPM)\nSAP Build\nSAP BTP Workflow\nDemonstrated understanding of modern programming paradigms and cloud-based extension models\nStrong business and functional acumen, enabling translation of enterprise requirements into scalable, sustainable technical solutions\nInterpersonal Skills - leadership, interactions, communication, influence\nAbility to develop effective working relationships.
