Key responsibilities

• Act as the local Accounting Operations lead for the market, representing the wider Accounting Operations organisation within the market.
• Ensure agreed global Accounting Operations processes, controls, governance and ways of working are consistently applied locally.
• Oversee Accounting Operations service delivery, including BPO delivery, holding relevant teams accountable for quality, timeliness and agreed actions.
• Maintain a clear view of operational health, risks, recurring issues and dependencies and ensure these are appropriately addressed or escalated.
• Drive operational issues towards resolution by understanding root cause, clarifying accountability and coordinating across the relevant teams.
• Partner closely with Market Finance and Controllership, ensuring effective collaboration and clear accountability across functions.
• Identify process gaps, improvement opportunities and market requirements and bring these through Accounting Operations leadership to inform broader priorities and solutions.
• Support implementation of agreed process and operating model improvements within the market.
• Actively contribute to the global LAO community, sharing market insights, common issues and good practice to support consistency across markets.
• Coordinate Accounting Operations support for statutory and audit activities with the relevant owners and stakeholders.
• Promote accountability, continuous improvement and effective problem solving across the local Accounting Operations environment.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Accounting Operations, financial accounting or a related finance environment.
• Good end-to-end understanding of accounting processes and their interdependencies.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS and a good understanding of statutory accounting requirements applicable to the specific market.
• Good understanding of internal controls and financial compliance.
• Experience working within BPO, GBS or shared-service delivery models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand root cause and drive issues towards resolution.
• Ability to constructively challenge and hold stakeholders and service providers accountable for agreed outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across local and global teams.
• Experience working within standardised global processes and governance.
• Experience with finance transformation and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Oracle or a comparable ERP environment.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Fluent English
