In this role, you will own responsibility for delivering data initiatives across our data product landscape, to globally improve and progress McDonalds to a world class data product organization. Partner with business customers and stakeholders to define and deliver the associated technical data product solutions using a mix of internal and external (vendor) resources and products and ensure successful integration with existing McDonald’s systems.\nThe TL is responsible for the discovery, solution design and delivery of data application/services and architecture of the systems across the data platform ensuring they are secure and standardized and can be easily consumed by downstream users/services/systems. Ensure tech design patterns and best practices are consistently applied & followed across systems. The TL is also a people leader for data engineers and owner of the architectural/technical decisions for the data product(s).\nDuties\nDevelop the data product’s target technical roadmap and key technology decisions to deliver the roadmap, with first time data quality.\nCollaborate with Data & Solution Architects to launch scalable and reliable data solutions, support system integration efforts, and create operational efficiencies through automation and process improvements.\nActively manage and drive accountability of 3rd party technology vendors\nAbility to synthesize information and communicate effectively to a broad range of stakeholders\nManage technical interdependencies and interfaces of their product with other systems and products\nBe the voice of change to advocate for effective and rationalized data footprint, and drive decommissioning of redundant processes and systems\nPartner with Product Managers and other stakeholders in planning, definition and high-level design of solutions; explore alternatives, partner with product teams in identifying technologies and making technical tradeoffs and decisions\nArchitect and define a systems landscape to connect data flows across all McDonalds Data systems.\nEstablish best practices for identifying, analyzing and managing technical risks.\nResponsible for testing strategy and the quality of the outputs of the internal/external development teams\nProvide people leadership for data engineers, professional development and engineering resources allocated to the product\nDefine critical non-functional requirements that sustain throughout the data product lifecycle\nParticipate in release preparation and planning\nManage temporary solutions and technical debt at the squad level\nServe as subject matter expert across McDonald’s data systems.\nParticipate on data quality initiatives. \nAbility and flexibility to coordinate and work with teams distributed across time zones, as needed. For instance, early morning/late evening hours to coordinate with teams in India\nQualifications\nBS in Computer Science or related field is REQUIRED.\n6+ years of technically focused experience in related technologies and languages (Web Services, Java, XML, S3, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark, etc.)\n5+ years of proficiency in SQL, with solid understanding of database concepts.\nSound understanding of Event, Workflow and Application driven Data Architecture. API and Microservices management\nSeasoned technical leader with hands-on development and deployment experience with insights into the newest technology and development trends.\nExperience partnering with stakeholders across an at-scale, complex, global matrix org structure\nExperience leading large cross functional teams to align and deliver projects.\nDeep understanding of business, information, technical architecture (e.g. architecture principles design, deployment models), security\nExperience with creating and executing testing strategies for functional, integration and performance testing\nExperience developing solutions that provide high levels of resilience and scale.\nExperience in Agile product development\nStrong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisions with stakeholders of all levels of expertise\nActive coach and mentor whose goal is to grow and maximize team members’ potential\nCompensation\nBonus Eligible: Yes\nLong - Term Incentive: Yes\nBenefits Eligible: Yes\nSalary Range\nThe expected salary range for this role is $138,207.00 - $172,758.00 per year\nThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
