It’s our goal to always provide an engaging, relevant, and simple experience for our customers.\nReporting to the Sr. Network Manager, the Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring network performance, identifying and resolving network issues, and implementing network security measures to protect the organization's data and systems. In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.\nResponsibilities & Accountabilities:\nDevelop, manage and implement a network infrastructure that supports the Restaurant operations, including point-of-sale systems and other business-critical applications.\nManage and maintain Network hardware, such as Routers, Access Points, Switches, and Firewalls.\nTroubleshoot, Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative Network solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security.\nWhile embedding with teams, strategize, consult, and prototype alongside other engineers to implement best practices and solutions for applications utilizing the latest Network Technologies.\nDrive proof of concepts and conduct technical feasibility studies for business requirements.\nRemain up-to-date on emerging technologies and architecture and propose ways to use them in current and upcoming projects.\nStrive to provide world-class service to both internal and external customers.\nEffectively communicate project health, risks and issues to the program stakeholders, sponsors and management teams.\nResolve most conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently but intuitively escalate complex or consequential issues to senior management.\nIdentify and direct changes through appropriate review and approval mechanisms.\nWork well in an agile environment.\nResponsible for providing urgent support and troubleshooting for our customers outside of regular business hours.\nQualifications\nWillingness and ability to live the McDonald’s values every day: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.\nCisco Professional Level Designation (CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCNP Data Center, etc.)\nStrong desire to automate everything you touch.\nMust be attentive to details, organized, self-motivated, and driven.\nKnowledge and understanding of industry trends and new technologies and ability to apply trends to architectural needs.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.\nComfortable with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty. \nDemonstrated strong analytic and problem-solving abilities.\nAdvanced ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nSubject matter expert in many facets of network hardware based on Juniper & Meraki platforms and understand intricate network dependencies from edge, core and cloud infrastructure.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.\nAbility to design and deploy innovative network solutions that enhance service performance, durability, cost-effectiveness, and security. \nAbility to manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflict.\nProven experience working in an Agile environment with a Scrum Master, Daily Scrum meetings, Backlogs, Sprints and written Stories and deliverables. Familiar with documentation process and tools, JIRA and Confluence preferred. \nExperience:\n5+ years’ of experience with routing and switching technologies.\n5+ years’ of experience with Meraki and Aruba L2&3 switch installation, administration, and management.\n5+ years’ of experience with Meraki and Aruba wireless solutions and access points.\n5+ years' of experience with Network Security. \nFamiliar with Meraki Dashboard and Juniper Mist Dashboard and know how to use configuration template.\nBachelor’s degree or three years relevant experience.\nKnowledge of networking protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, and VPN design.\nExperience with Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto Prisma (cloud-based version).\nExperience with Microsoft Active Directory.\nExperience with VMware solutions.\nExperience with SolarWinds or equivalent network monitoring solutions.\nMcDonald’s is the world’s leading global foodservice retailer with over 40,000 locations in over 100 countries.
