This is a highly visible, customer-facing role requiring collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless, 24x7 data operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of managing, monitoring, and optimizing complex data pipelines and platforms.\nWork Shift:\nThe role requires flexibility for either a 5:00 am - 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm shift.\nDuties\nManage, monitor, and optimize global data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms on GCP.\nProvide 24x7 support for data operations, including on-call rotation during off-hours, weekends, and holidays.\nServe as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, translating business requirements into operational solutions.\nHands-on development and operational support using ELT/ETL tools such as dbt and orchestration tools like Airflow.\nManage and maintain GCP services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Dataflow, Dataproc Serverless, Memory store, Pub/Sub, Dataplex, Cloud SQL, and other related tools.\nWork with streaming and messaging systems such as Confluent and API management platforms like Gravitee.\nDevelop and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, and other BI tools.\nUtilize Google Cloud Monitoring & Logging to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of data pipelines.\nOversee vendor management related to data operations and platform services.\nTrack and resolve incidents through ServiceNow, manage tasks in Jira, and maintain documentation in Confluence.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.\nQualifications\n3-7 years of experience in data operations, preferably in a global data platform environment.\nHands-on experience with GCP and related services as listed above.\nExperience with dbt, Airflow, and ELT processes.\nStrong SQL skills and experience with Cloud SQL and BigQuery.\nProven experience in 24x7 operational support and on-call rotations.\nExcellent communication skills and experience interacting with stakeholders and customers.\nFamiliarity with ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, and ticketing/incident management workflows.\nExperience with data visualization tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI.\nVendor management experience.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nGCP certifications (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer). \nExperience with streaming, messaging, and event-driven architectures.\nExposure to Dataplex, Cloud Monitoring & Logging, and serverless compute platforms.\nSkills & Competencies:\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.\nDetail-oriented and committed to operational excellence.\nProactive, with a collaborative approach to cross-team engagement.\nStrong customer service orientation.\nMcDonald’s is the world’s leading global foodservice retailer with over 40,000 locations in over 100 countries.
