The role focuses on developing scalable platform services, automation frameworks, governance controls, and self-service capabilities that enable Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and AI/ML Operations teams to efficiently develop and operationalize AI solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlatform Engineering\nDevelop and enhance AI/ML platform services leveraging Vertex AI and GCP services.\nBuild reusable platform components, templates, accelerators, and SDKs.\nDevelop platform APIs, integrations, and automation frameworks.\nSupport the implementation of scalable and secure platform architectures.\nPlatform Enablement\nBuild self-service onboarding capabilities for AI engineers and data scientists.\nCreate reusable development patterns, standards, and best practices.\nImprove developer experience through automation and tooling.\nSupport platform adoption across AI and data teams.\nPlatform Automation & DevOps\nDevelop CI/CD frameworks and automation pipelines for platform services.\nImplement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management practices.\nMaintain source code repositories, testing frameworks, and code quality controls.\nAutomate platform provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.\nGovernance & Security\nImplement platform governance controls, access management, and security standards.\nSupport auditability, compliance, and platform guardrails.\nAssist in implementing Responsible AI and Agent Governance capabilities.\nPartner with Security and Architecture teams to align platform controls.\nReliability & Observability\nImplement platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and health checks.\nSupport platform performance, scalability, and availability improvements.\nContribute to observability dashboards and operational readiness initiatives.\nAssist with platform capacity planning and resiliency engineering.\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\nCollaborate with AI/ML Platform Leads, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and AI/ML Operations teams.\nParticipate in platform architecture reviews and engineering improvements.\nEvaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend platform enhancements.\nContribute to platform documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering standards.\nQualifications\n4-7 years of experience in AI/ML Platform Engineering, Cloud Platform Engineering, or Data & AI Platform development, preferably on GCP.\nStrong knowledge of GCP services including Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and Dataflow.\nExperience developing platform services, automation frameworks, and cloud-native applications.\nStrong programming skills in Python and experience developing APIs and integrations.\nExperience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, pytest, SonarQube, or similar development tools.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technologies.\nKnowledge of containerization and cloud-native technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow, Astronomer, or similar platforms.\nUnderstanding of platform security, IAM, access controls, and governance practices.\nFamiliarity with platform monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting concepts.\nExperience building reusable templates, accelerators, and self-service capabilities.\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.\nMcDonald’s is the world’s leading global foodservice retailer with over 40,000 locations in over 100 countries.
