This role provides overall leadership for McElhanney’s multidisciplinary team operating at site, which will include approximately 16–20 personnel across: \nSenior Road Resident Engineering Representation (RER) \nErosion & Sediment Control (ESC) Representation \nOn-site Geochemistry and Geotechnical Materials Testing Laboratories \nField-based Geochemical Sampling Crews \nThe Site Manager will serve as McElhanney’s primary on-site representative and overall field authority, responsible for coordinating people, safety, reporting, and client interface across all scopes. \nNote: This is a construction and field operations leadership role with strong safety oversight. It is not an engineering design role. Technical and engineering decisions remain with the Engineer of Record and designated Resident Engineering Representatives. \nThe role operates on a 14 days on / 2 Paid Travel Days / and 12 days off rotation, with 12-hour shifts while on site. Camp accommodations and travel are provided and coordinated directly by McElhanney.\nThis is a full-time, project-term position with an anticipated minimum duration of three years. There may be opportunities to support additional projects during the off-season; however, these opportunities cannot be guaranteed.\nWhat You’ll Do\nProvide overall field leadership and coordination for McElhanney’s full site team of approximately 16–20 personnel \nOversee site operations across road construction oversight, environmental compliance, laboratory operations, and geochemical sampling programs \nAct as McElhanney’s primary point of contact for the Client’s Project Manager \nLead daily internal construction and coordination meetings \nParticipate in external daily planning meetings with the Client and other vendors \nEnsure discipline leads (RERs, lab supervisors, and sampling leads) provide timely inputs to consolidated daily reporting \nPrepare and deliver McElhanney’s daily client report \nMonitor overall progress across all site scopes and identify emerging risks early \nMaintain strong alignment between construction sequencing, lab operations, and sampling activities \nPromote and enforce a strong safety culture across all McElhanney personnel \nConduct regular field walk-downs and maintain visible leadership presence \nSupport incident investigations, emergency response coordination, and corrective action follow-up \nMaintain professional and constructive relationships with contractors, client representatives, regulators (as requested), and other site stakeholders\nWhat You’ll Bring\n10+ years of experience in field construction leadership, site operations management, or safety leadership roles \nExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams in mining, heavy civil, or large-scale resource infrastructure environments \nDemonstrated ability to oversee both construction and operational support functions simultaneously \nStrong safety background; credentials such as NCSO, CSO, NEBOSH, Mine Manager certification, or similar are considered strong assets \nExperience leading daily site coordination meetings and interfacing directly with client project managers \nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize multiple discipline inputs into clear reporting \nExperience working in remote, camp-based environments with rotational schedules \nComfort operating in mountainous terrain and variable weather conditions \nValid Class 5 driver’s license \nAbility to meet site access requirements, including pre-hire and ongoing randomized drug and alcohol testing\nWhat Can We Offer You? \nThe wage range for this position is $55 to $70 per hour. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications.
