We’re proud of our reputation for developing talent and maintaining a positive, friendly, and rewarding work environment.\nJoin McElhanney, a firm with big company opportunities and a small company feel!\nWhat You’ll Do\nAssist in the use of GNSS receivers for RTK, RTN, static measurements, and total stations.\nCollaborate with Project Managers to prepare files, maps, and survey data for project delivery.\nResearch plans, titles, documents, and related geospatial information.\nMaintain, clean, monitor, and report the condition of equipment and vehicles.\nWork in both office and field environments across the East Kootenay region and surrounding project sites, gaining exposure to a variety of surveying and geomatics projects.\nLearn about and operate emerging technologies, including drones, 3D laser scanning, reality capture tools, and other advanced geomatics equipment.\nParticipate in McElhanney’s industry-leading safety practices to meet and exceed client needs, ensuring that our teams \"Think Safe, Work Safe, and Get Home Safe”.\nPractice Areas You’ll Focus On\nAs part of your experience, you’ll gain exposure to surveying, geomatics technology, and potentially ground disturbance-related work, depending on project needs. You’ll build practical knowledge and technical skills while working on real-world projects with support from experienced team members.\nSurveying: Gain exposure to field and office surveying work, supporting project teams with data collection, calculations, plans, and related project deliverables. \nGeomatics Technology: Gain exposure to modern survey and geomatics tools, including GNSS, total stations, drones, 3D laser scanning, reality capture tools, and related data processing.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nEnrolled in a Diploma or Degree program in Geomatics.\nAbility to work in a variety of outdoor settings including wilderness/backcountry environments for extended periods with varied hours.\nA willingness and ability to travel and work out of town.\nAble to work in on busy sites with varied terrain and ability to lift heavy equipment.\nPrevious work experience working in outdoors environments is an asset.\nExcellent attention to detail, good judgement and clear communication skills.\nModern technical aptitude and an interest in advanced reality capture, GIS, geospatial, or survey technologies is an asset.\nValid Class 5 Drivers License.\nWhat Can We Offer You?\nThe salary range for this position is $22 - $28 per hour. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
