Whether it is ocean kayaking in Prince Rupert, mountain biking in Terrace, backcountry fishing in Kitimat or hiking in Smithers, each community is a special place to call home. \nWhat You’ll Do\nSupport the delivery geotechnical solutions for civil infrastructure projects, including linear infrastructure (roads, rail, and underground utilities), water & wastewater systems, slope stability, buildings and marine structural. \nLead geotechnical field investigations and studies, complete with interpretation and documentation of results. This role is expected to involve a combination of field and office work, depending on the season and project type. \nPrepare small to medium (e.g. $10,000 - $100,000) fee estimates and proposals for geotechnical assignments. \nContribute to business development (internal and external) and client management. \nCoordinate geotechnical projects and task schedules and budgets efficiently and effectively. \nProvide oversight, guidance, direction and mentoring of junior technical staff, at a level consistent with your experience. \nGrow technical expertise with the mindset of supporting the existing and future McElhanney business and Geotechnical team. For this role, this means mentoring junior staff on the successful planning and execution of projects. \nWhat You’ll Bring\nUniversity degree in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.\nA minimum of 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in relevant geotechnical fields. \nStrong fundamental knowledge of geotechnical design principles for civil infrastructure projects. \nCandidates must be registered with Engineers and Geoscience BC (or eligible) and possess a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) registration,or be an EIT or GIT and able to register within one year. \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong client and team relationships. \nProject management skills, including budgeting, financial oversight, and schedule management. \nBusiness development capabilities, including identifying and securing new work, building client relationships, and mentoring junior staff. \nWhat Can We Offer You? \nThe salary range for this position is 98,500 - $137,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
