Supported by a team of more than 45 environmental professionals across the company, you will contribute to a diverse range of projects in the cities and communities, energy and resources, and transportation and transit sectors. \nIn this role, you will provide technical expertise and project leadership across a diverse range of environmental projects, supporting clients through all phases of project delivery. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, build strong client relationships, mentor junior staff, and contribute to practical environmental solutions that balance regulatory requirements and project objectives. Working with industry, Indigenous Nations, private-sector, and municipal clients, you will help develop practical environmental solutions that balance ecological stewardship, regulatory requirements, and project objectives. \nWhat You’ll Do\nLead and support environmental projects from proposal development through completion, including field investigations, data interpretation, and reporting. \nManage small-scale environmental projects, including scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and client communications. \nLead environmental assessments, habitat and riparian evaluations, permitting, regulatory approvals, and technical reporting. \nProvide practical environmental advice and solutions to support planning, design, permitting, and regulatory compliance. \nCoordinate regulatory approvals, permits, authorizations, wildlife salvage activities, and habitat mitigation or restoration measures. \nBuild and maintain relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous Nations, and other project stakeholders. \nLead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate subcontractors and specialty consultants, and mentor junior staff. \nSupport business development through proposal preparation, client relationship management, and identifying new opportunities.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nA passion for delivering sustainable environmental solutions within local communities. \n6+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including proposal preparation, aquatic habitat assessments, permitting, and environmental reporting. \nBachelor's degree in Biology, Ecological Restoration, Environmental Science, or a related field. \nR.P.Bio. or R.B.Tech. designation in good standing. \nProven ability to manage environmental projects from initiation through completion, including client management, team coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and delivery of quality outcomes that meet project objectives. \nStrong technical report writing, communication, and project coordination skills. \nExperience liaising with clients, Indigenous Nations, government agencies, and regulatory authorities. \nProven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams. \nPossession of a valid BC Driver's License. \nNice-to-Have Skills and Experience \nLocal knowledge of the Lower Mainland and municipal land development requirements. \nSpecialization in fisheries and/or aquatic sciences. \nElectrofishing certification. \nProficiency with GIS, ArcGIS, mobile data collection, and environmental data management systems. \nExperience leading multidisciplinary environmental assessments and permitting programs.\nWhat Can We Offer You? \nThe salary range for this position is $85,000 – $120,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications.
