With a more affordable cost of living than many larger urban centres, it's a great place to build your career while enjoying more opportunities to explore, connect and make the most of life outside of work.\nWhat You’ll Do\nTake ownership of and drive business development (internal and external) and client management.\nPrepare fee estimates and proposals for geotechnical assignments.\nManage geotechnical investigations and studies, complete with interpretation and documentation of results, on a wide variety of transportation, municipal, land development and resource related projects.\nGeotechnical analysis of stability, stress, deformation, and foundation response utilizing a suite of software platforms.\nManage project schedules and budgets efficiently and effectively.\nOversight, guidance, direction and mentoring of junior technical staff, at a level consistent with your experience.\nGrow technical expertise with the mindset of supporting the existing and future McElhanney business and Geotechnical team.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nUniversity degree in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical emphasis.\nA minimum of 8-12 years progressive experience in relevant geotechnical field, with experience in:\nGeotechnical engineering analysis, design, and consulting.\nSlope hazard assessments and land development projects.\nShallow and Deep foundation design is an asset.\nSeismic engineering and modeling is an asset.\nLand base piling analysis and design is an asset.\nRegistered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing in any Canadian province or territory, with eligibility to obtain registration in British Columbia. Alberta registration is considered an asset.\nStrong project management skills, including budgeting, financial oversight, and schedule management.\nStrong business development capabilities, including identifying and securing new work, building client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.\nWhat Can We Offer You?\nThe salary range for this position is $110,000 - $165,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
