Reporting to the Division Manager, you will work under the direction of the Project Manager to complete projects in the field in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner to meet contractual and legal obligations. You may be involved in engineering, construction, or legal surveying in urban and/or rural areas.\nWhy go north? Hike, fish, ski, golf, canoe, camp, mountain bike, sled, trail run or hunt- this region offers it all!\nWhat You’ll Do\nTake direction from Project Manager to understand the following: project objectives, allocated budgets, goals, schedules, and timeframes.\nField completion of various types of surveys including engineering, construction, and legal surveys.\nLiaise between Project Manager and onsite client representative.\nManage information flow from field to office and prepare clear, concise and accurate field notes, records and calculations.\nEnsure implementation of quality assurance, safety, and policy compliance.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nTwo-year technical diploma in geomatics or civil engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nPhysically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, willing to work in various environmental conditions with varied terrain, able to work in wildlife populated areas, and willing to work in remote areas for extended periods and varied hours.\nExperience with Trimble Business Centre is an asset.\nGood written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good attendance, sound judgment skills, and general computer knowledge.\nYou can choose to be located in Prince Rupert, Terrace or Kitimat.\nValid (or in progress) Class 5 driver’s license.\nWhat Can We Offer You?\nThe salary range for this position is $62,000 - $90,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
