You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of engineers, technologists, planners, and project managers to deliver innovative solutions for municipal, provincial, and private-sector clients. \nThis is a great fit for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex design challenges, and is looking to grow their technical and leadership skills within an employee-owned firm. \nThis position is Calgary based and offers the flexibility of remote work. \nDeadline to apply: October 16th, 2026 - 11:59pm PT (The deadline displayed above is the same in Eastern Time) \nWhat You’ll Do\nLead and support the design of roadways, intersections, active transportation facilities, transit corridors, and site-access improvements. \nCoordinate the preparation geometric designs including horizontal/vertical alignments, intersections, grading, drainage, and corridor models. \nComplete ancillary design tasks such as signage, pavement marking, barrier warrants and drainage assessments. \nDevelop design reports, cost estimates, tender packages, and construction specifications. \nCollaborate with internal teams across geomatics, transportation planning, municipal engineering , and construction services. \nConduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable design standards. \nProvide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists. \nAttend meetings, present design concepts, and support public engagement activities when required. \nAssist with proposal production and business development.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nDegree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related discipline. \n7+ years of experience in transportation or municipal infrastructure design. A minimum of 4 years experience working on Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors (TEC) projects is required. \nRegistered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA, as C.E.T. with ASET, or equivalent. \nStrong understanding of roadway geometric design guidelines. Familiarity with various provincial and municipal guidelines throughout Alberta is an asset, particularly City of Calgary and Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors. \nExcellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.\nWhat Can We Offer You? \nThe salary range for this position is $85,000 - $140,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
