We are committed to delivering exceptional quality, service, and operational excellence to customers around the world.\nPosition Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the quality function at our Houston facility and support the continued growth of our organization. This individual will own AV8 MRO's Quality Management System, ensuring landing gear overhaul, repair, modification, testing, and exchange work - as well as our Engineering team's PMA parts development program - is performed safely, compliantly, and to the highest standard across FAA, EASA, customer, and company requirements.\nThis role provides senior leadership across quality and works in close partnership with Production, Engineering, and Procurement to balance customer commitments, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. The ideal candidate brings strong FAA Part 145 repair station quality leadership, including prior Chief Inspector experience, and is comfortable representing AV8 MRO directly with the FAA, EASA, and customers.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn, maintain, and continuously improve AV8 MRO's FAA- and EASA-regulated Quality Management System across all landing gear overhaul, repair, modification, testing, and exchange operations.\nServe as AV8 MRO's primary point of contact with the FAA (FSDO/CMO), EASA, and customer quality representatives for audits, surveillance, and certification activities.\nOwn and maintain the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), and related quality control documentation and procedures.\nDirectly oversee or personally serve as Chief Inspector for the FAA Part 145 Repair Station, ensuring inspection, airworthiness, and return-to-service standards are met across receiving, teardown, plating, assembly, testing, and shipping.\nOwn evaluation and approval of PMA and alternate parts for installation eligibility on landing gear and related components, in accordance with FAA and EASA requirements.\nProvide quality oversight for Engineering's PMA parts development program, partnering with Engineering to ensure design, production, and airworthiness data meet FAA requirements.\nOwn the Approved Supplier/Vendor Program, partnering with Procurement to qualify and monitor vendors supplying parts, materials, and outside processing (e.g., plating, NDT).\nServe as ultimate authority on the Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of non-conforming material and repair station findings.\nLead, manage, and develop the quality team, including inspectors and quality engineers, championing a proactive, accountability-driven quality culture.\nOwn and drive the CAPA process - leading root cause analyses, assigning corrective and preventive actions, and ensuring timely resolution.\nPartner with Production, Engineering, and Procurement to balance quality, schedule, and customer commitments.\nTrack and report key quality metrics, including inspection turnaround, non-conformance rates, audit findings, and customer quality escapes.\nCommunicate directly with customers on quality concerns, escalations, and technical questions as needed.\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of aerospace quality experience, including leadership within an FAA Part 145 repair station.\nStrong FAA regulatory experience, with demonstrated understanding of oversight, inspection, and airworthiness requirements.\nStrong understanding of FAA Part 145 MRO operations and/or FAA PMA development.\nTechnical purchasing experience - evaluating suppliers, technical specifications, and managing an approved vendor program.\nDemonstrated leadership managing quality teams in a hands-on production/repair environment.\nProficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical documentation, and airworthiness data.\nHighly Preferred Qualifications\nExperience serving as Chief Inspector in an FAA-certificated Repair Station.\nExperience as an Accountable Manager within an FAA and/or EASA-certificated repair station.\nWorking knowledge of AS9100 quality management standards.\nAircraft and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.\nAircraft component or landing gear overhaul experience.\nEASA repair station experience.\nBachelor's degree in quality, engineering, or a related field.\nISO 9001 experience.\nAvSight or similar MRO/ERP system experience.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nThe successful candidate will:\nLead a safe, compliant, and audit-ready quality operation across FAA and EASA requirements.\nReduce non-conformances and quality escapes while improving inspection turnaround time.\nBuild a strong, accountable quality team with a solid succession bench.\nStrengthen supplier qualification and PMA/alternate parts evaluation processes.\nServe as a trusted quality partner to customers, the FAA, and EASA.\nWhy AV8?\nAt AV8, you're part of a team dedicated to precision, quality, and continuous improvement.
