The team is committed to delivering better parts with exceptional, old-fashioned customer service - the McFarlane way.\nTHE OPPORTUNITY\nThe SIOP (Supply, Inventory, Operations & Planning) Manager leads McFarlane Aviation's planning, purchasing, inventory, and distribution functions, with oversight of the Purchasing team and the Distribution Supervisor. This role builds the systems and processes that turn customer demand, material requirements, supplier capability, and production capacity into an executable plan - with a strong focus on our ERP/MRP system and improving on-time delivery, fill rate, schedule attainment, and inventory performance.\nWe’re looking for someone who can pull planning, purchasing, inventory, and distribution together into one connected system, partners closely with Operations, and is just as comfortable running the planning cadence from the ERP screen as walking the warehouse floor with the Distribution team.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPlanning & ERP/MRP\nOwn and continuously improve material and production planning processes\nDevelop ERP/MRP as the primary system for planning, purchasing, inventory, and operational decision-making\nEstablish and maintain effective planning parameters including lead times, safety stocks, order policies, lot sizes, planning horizons, and other critical master data\nTranslate customer demand and forecasts into executable material and production requirements\nDevelop short- and long-range capacity planning to identify constraints and support realistic production schedules\nEstablish a disciplined planning cadence across Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, and other functions\nDrive schedule attainment by proactively identifying and resolving material, supplier, inventory, and capacity constraints\nImprove master data ownership and reduce dependence on spreadsheets, expediting, manual workarounds, and tribal knowledge\nMaterials, Inventory & Distribution\nLead and develop the Purchasing team, and the Distribution Supervisor and their team, with clear roles, standard work, priorities, and performance expectations\nEstablish inventory strategies that balance customer availability, supplier lead time, working capital, and supply risk\nImprove inventory accuracy through effective transaction controls, cycle counting, and material handling processes\nDevelop appropriate stocking strategies, safety stocks, inventory targets, and shortage management processes\nDrive improvement in material availability and customer fill rate\nProvide leadership for shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics through the Distribution Supervisor to ensure effective material flow throughout the business\nOwn the KPIs for the distribution function - including shipping accuracy, dock-to-stock time, and warehouse safety - and drive continuous improvement against them\nSupplier Performance & Procurement\nEstablish a structured supplier performance management and scorecard process with measurable expectations for quality, delivery, responsiveness, and lead time\nLead supplier performance improvement, escalation, and recovery activities\nDevelop sources of supply and support strategic sourcing of critical materials, products, and services\nNegotiate pricing, terms, and long-term agreements where appropriate\nOwn and delivery YoY cost savings targets through negotiation, sourcing, supplier consolidation, and other procurement initiatives. \nEnsure supplier lead times, minimum order quantities, and other planning inputs accurately reflect supplier capability\nPartner with Quality and Operations to address supplier performance and supply continuity risks\nLeadership & Continuous Improvement\nOwn the KPIs and performance metrics for the Purchasing/Planning and Distribution functions, aligned with company objectives\nDrive continuous improvement in key measures including on-time delivery, fill rate, schedule attainment, supplier OTD, inventory accuracy, shortages, past-due requirements, and YoY cost savings.\nUse data to identify systemic causes of delivery and execution problems and lead cross-functional improvement efforts\nPartner closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Customer Service\nDevelop standardized processes and departmental SOPs that support scalable growth and regulatory requirements\nDevelop the planning, purchasing, and distribution organization to operate proactively through systems and standard processes rather than reactive expediting\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred\n7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, materials, planning, or manufacturing operations, including leadership experience\nDemonstrated experience building, improving, or leading an ERP/MRP-driven planning system in a manufacturing environment\nStrong working knowledge of MRP, material and production planning, capacity planning, inventory management, purchasing, and supplier management\nDemonstrated ability to translate demand into material, capacity, and production requirements\nExperience improving operational measures such as OTD, fill rate, schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, shortages, or supplier performance\nStrong understanding of ERP master data and how planning parameters affect purchasing, inventory, capacity, and production execution\nExperience leading Buyers, Buyer/Planners, Distribution or Warehouse Supervisors, Material Planners, or similar roles\nPreferred\nExperience with S&OP/SIOP or other integrated demand and supply planning processes preferred\nExperience with Infor SyteLine is highly desirable\nExperience in discrete manufacturing strongly preferred; aviation experience is a plus\nExposure to highly regulated manufacturing environments (AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar) is a plus\nAPICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or related certification is a plus\nWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE\nSuccess in this role means building a scalable planning and supply chain system that provides clear answers to fundamental operating questions:\n· What do we need to make and when?\n· What materials are required to support the plan?\n· Do we have the internal and supplier capacity to execute it?\n· Where are the constraints and risks before they impact the customer?\n· What should we stock, how much should we stock, and why?\n· Can our ERP/MRP system provide reliable signals that our team can execute against?\nUltimately, success will be demonstrated through measurable improvement in customer OTD, fill rate, schedule attainment, material availability, supplier performance, inventory accuracy, distribution performance, and planning effectiveness, while reducing reliance on expediting and manual intervention.\nWHY MCFARLANE AVIATION?\nAt McFarlane Aviation, you’re part of a team that takes pride in Making It Better.
