Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).\nWorking in the laboratory of Professor Adil Harroud, the Research Associate will lead the statistical genetics and bioinformatics analyses of large-scale genetic, proteomic and clinical datasets in multiple sclerosis and related neurological diseases, and ensure the successful completion of research projects.\nMain responsibilities\nContribute substantially to planning new statistical genetics and bioinformatics projects.\nLead the development and maintenance of analysis pipelines for genome-wide association studies, polygenic scores, Mendelian randomization and the integration of genetic data with proteomic and transcriptomic data.\nAnalyze genotyping array, whole-genome sequencing and proteomic data from institutional and international cohorts on high-performance computing clusters.\nWork with collaborative teams on the multidisciplinary aspects of the research projects.\nProvide guidance to students and research staff on analysis methods and incorporate the tools they develop as appropriate.\nContribute substantially to the planning of new projects through contributing to grant writing and manuscripts.\nEnsure data management, documentation and reproducibility of analyses in accordance with data access agreements.\nEducation/Experience\nPhD in human genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics or a related field with at least three years of relevant experience.\nOther Qualifying Skills/Abilities\nExcellent publication record in internationally recognized journals.\nExperience in statistical genetics, including genome-wide association studies and analysis of biobank-scale data.\nIn-depth knowledge of R, Python, bash and git, and experience with high-performance computing.\nGood understanding of statistics.\nStrong oral communication and writing skills.\nStrong organization skills, attention to detail and priority setting skills.\nAbility to work autonomously in a complex, changing, deadline-oriented environment.\nThis position is covered by the AMURE collective agreement: http://www.aerum-amure.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/AMURE-2023-2027.pdf\nBefore applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.\nMcGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.
