Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).\nThe Department of Mechanical Engineering at McGill University is seeking a Research Associate to support research in bioadhesive design and applications under the supervision of Professor Jianyu Li.\nThis role will contribute to the design, fabrication, and evaluation of advanced polymeric and cellular bioadhesives capable of seamless integration with biological tissues under physiological conditions. The position involves both fundamental and applied research, including biomaterial development, biological evaluation, and translational studies.\nThis is a unionized position, and the incumbent will be a member of the AMURE (Research Associates and Assistants) bargaining unit.\nResponsibilities:\nDesigning, synthesizing, and characterizing novel bioadhesive materials and biomaterials.\nPerforming cell culture work and conducting in vitro biological evaluations of bioadhesive systems.\nConducting mechanical and functional testing to assess adhesive performance and tissue integration.\nPlanning, coordinating, and carrying out in vivo animal studies in accordance with approved ethical protocols.\nAnalyzing experimental data and preparing research reports, manuscripts, and grant-related documents.\nContributing to the development and dissemination of research findings through scientific publications and presentations.\nQualifications:\nMust hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical, or a closely related field.\nMinimum of five (5) years of research experience\nDemonstrated experience conducting both in vitro and in vivo research.\nProven expertise in bioadhesive materials, biomaterials, tissue adhesives, or related areas of bioengineering research.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing scientific and technical reports.\nBefore applying, please note that to work at McGill University, you must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.\nMcGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.\nHourly Salary:\n$35.37Hours per Week:\n10 (Part time)Location:\nMacdonald Eng.
