Ask anyone who knows us - the caliber of our people sets us apart.\nSENIOR CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE MANAGER\nThe Senior Construction Scheduler will primarily be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules for commercial construction projects. McGough uses critical path scheduling along with our Last Planner System to track and maintain progress. The Senior Construction Scheduler will be responsible to attend weekly meetings to review and update progress, review subcontractors weekly work plans and update the overall project tracking tools. The position will also lead pull planning meetings periodically, to create specific work plans for each scheduled milestone along the critical path.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in construction-related field or 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.\n10+ years of construction & scheduling experience\nWorking knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies\nStrong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project delivery methods.\nDemonstrated experience and knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules and claims avoidance and resolution techniques\nCompetence in Primavera P6\nWith a Bachelor’s Degree must have 24 months of experience or without a Bachelor’s Degree mush have 6 years of experience with each of the following:\n(1)Construction or engineering project scheduling to include interfacing with owner review task meetings and materials procurement scheduling\n(2)Schedule construction projects independently and without oversight and involve maintaining and updating schedules\n(3)Use knowledge of construction plans and engineering specifications, codes, and standards;\n(4)Reading, reviewing, and interpreting construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts/general conditions, at all levels of design to identify scheduling issues; and\n(5)Working with the scheduling and project management software program Primavera P6.\nPreferred:\nMaster’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field\n15+ years of construction & scheduling experience\nExperience with federal projects and government scheduling protocols (if applicable)\nKnowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) or other project controls tools\nOSHA 10/30 certification or familiarity with safety practices\nSkills:\nStrong collaboration and verbal and written communication skills with the ability to function as an integral team member, working under time constraints and meeting deadlines in a changing environment\nBasic knowledge of cost and resource loaded schedules\nBasic knowledge of claims avoidance and resolution techniques\nResults-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services\nThorough and detail-oriented\nAbility to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints\nSelf-starter and motivated with minimal supervision\nProficiency in Microsoft applications, computer skills, including Excel\nStrong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills\nAbility to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision\nEmbodies personal integrity and keeps confidences\nView every interaction as an opportunity to add value and enhance relationships\nCORE RESPONSIBILITIES\nUnderstand and implement accepted Planning & Scheduling best practices\nLead the planning effort alongside Project Manager and McGough Schedule Department. Collaborate and make recommendations to project management team in planning the work, including developing Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS), durations, and sequencing the work (hard restraints and soft restraints)\nAnalyze drawings, specifications, and construction related documents in preparation and acceptance of usable Baseline schedules for construction\nMonitor project schedules being developed and updated by Operations staff and provide support and guidance as necessary\nInteract with the Operations team and represent McGough Construction in the best manner to owners, subcontractors, and their representatives\nSupport the development of conceptual bid and proposal schedules with Operations staff and present to selection committees if required\nUtilize analytics to identify and report on project trends and support with risk mitigation\nEffectively cost and manpower load schedules for use during the execution of the project\nPrepare reporting from schedules including EVA analysis, integration of cost and schedule\nEvaluate the actual construction status relative to proposed plan\nAnalyze and communicate the impact of potential and actual changes to the schedule\nPrepare Time Impact Analyses per recommended practices by commonly accepted standards\nAssist project teams to develop “what if” scenarios to explore alternate sequencing, document, mitigate or avoid schedule delays\nDevelop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6\nInteract with project teams to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules\nCoordination with non-construction processes i.e. submittals, design and permitting progress\nWork with our Last Planner team and project teams to gather weekly work plans from subcontractors and update weekly work plans\nParticipate in weekly subcontractor meetings on various projects\nIdentify and track project constraints\nEvaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas\nAnalyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule and recommend work-around\nParticipate in Lean events and support of the McGough way\nResponsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary\nOFFICE AND TRAVEL\nRequired to work at the project in West Texas, there is potential for a hybrid schedule once trained.\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe physical demands outlined here are representative of those required for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
