If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.\nAbout the Role\nMcKesson is seekinga strategic and experienced Director, Data Governance to lead enterprise-wide data governance programs that improve data quality, regulatory compliance, business trust, and operational excellence. This leader will define and execute governance strategies across data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, data quality, master data management, and data lineage capabilities.\nThe Director will partner with business, technology, risk, compliance, and data leaders to establishgovernance frameworks, standards, policies, and controls that support data-driven decision making and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong combination of leadership, stakeholder engagement, data management expertise, and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex enterprise environment.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead enterprise data governance strategy, operating model, policies, standards, and controls.\n\nDrive adoption and optimization of data governance and data catalog platforms.\n\nEstablish and oversee data quality, metadata management, master data, and data lineage programs.\n\nPartner with Risk, Compliance, Privacy, Security, and Audit teams to ensure regulatory compliance and governancereadiness.\n\nDevelop governance metrics, data health KPIs, and executive reporting for senior leadership.\n\nEngage business stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and governance priorities.\n\nLead cross-functional teams delivering large-scale governance and data management initiatives.\n\nBuild and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\n\nBasic Requirements\n12+ years of professional experience in data governance, data management, data architecture, analytics, compliance, or related disciplines, including 4+ years of peopleleadership experience.\n\nBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.\n\nExperience leading enterprise-scale data governance programs and operating models.\n\nExperience implementing or managing data catalog, metadata management, or governance platforms.\n\nExperience with data quality management, data lineage, data stewardship, and governance controls.\n\nExperience partnering with compliance, risk, privacy, audit, or regulatory organizations.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.\n\nExperience defining governance policies, standards, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.\n\nPreferred Skills/Experience\nMaster's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.\n\nExperience supporting regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, or insurance.\n\nKnowledge of data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or similar tools.\n\nExperience with DAMA-DMBOK principles and enterprise data management frameworks.\n\nKnowledge of data privacy regulations, governance controls, and risk management frameworks.\n\nExperience leading enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives.\n\nStrong executive communication and organizational change management capabilities.\n\nRelevant certifications related to data governance, data management, privacy, or cloud technologies.\n\nTravel, Work Environment & Physical Requirements\nAbility to travel up to 20% as business needs require.\n\nHybrid or remote work arrangements may be available based on business and geographic requirements.\n\nAbility to participatein virtual and in-person meetings and work effectively in a technology-enabled environment.\n\nFor McKesson Canada: Employees are required to be in the office two (2) days per week, either in Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec or Mississauga, Ontario.\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
