If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.\nHealth Services Specialist - Biologics by McKesson\nJoin the Biologics by McKesson team as a Health Services Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in supporting patients and providers through the complex journey of specialty medication access. In this position, you’ll assist with prior authorizations, reimbursement processes, and financial assistance coordination. You'll serve as a key point of contact for healthcare providers and patients, ensuring timely communication, accurate documentation, and compassionate service. If you're detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and are passionate about making a difference in patient care, we’d love to hear from you.\nWork Location & Schedule\nCandidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Cary, North Carolina and will be Hybrid, working on-site 2 days per week.\nStandard work hours are 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday.\nThis position requires one Saturday shift per month.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnter all communication and documentation in the Biologics MIS system.\nUtilize all available resources to secure copay assistance funding for patients in need of financial support, and communicate available resources to providers and patients.\nCommunicate with providers regarding patient updates and document all interactions in the Biologics MIS.\nUse clinical notes provided by providers to initiate prior authorizations via online portals, phone, or fax.\nFollow up on applications for assistance with third-party entities until a determination is made (copay or free goods support).\nManage inbound calls on manufacturer customer service lines from patients, clients, physicians, practitioners, and clinics regarding services, financial support programs, and applications.\nCoordinate with the benefits investigation team to initiate the pharmacy dispensing workflow once assistance outcomes are determined.\nTriage prescriptions to preferred pharmacies or hub providers when Biologics is unable to serve the patient and ensure receipt by the pharmacy or hub.\nIdentify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to clinicians.\nPerform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.\nMinimum Requirement\nTypically requires 3+ years of related experience.\nEducation\nAssociate degree or higher preferred.\nCertification\nCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred but not required.\nCritical Skills\nAt least 3+ years of experience in insurance verification or benefits investigation preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.\nHighly motivated, committed to excellence, and demonstrates a positive attitude.\nConscientious, detail-oriented, flexible, and adaptable.\nEntrepreneurial mindset with a drive to bring new ideas to services and solutions.\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
