This leadership role is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, product integrity, and operational excellence while managing a team of Inventory Supervisors, Team Leads, and Inventory Specialists.\nThe Inventory Control Manager partners closely with Operations, Quality, Customer Care, Client Services, and customers to optimize inventory processes, resolve complex inventory issues, support audit readiness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations while delivering exceptional customer service and operational performance.\nShift: Day Shift (flexibility required)\nWhat You'll Do (Responsibilities)\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, coach, and develop Inventory Supervisors, Team Leads, and Inventory Specialists.\nEstablish performance expectations and monitor results against operational and customer KPIs.\nSupport workforce planning, staffing, training, and employee development initiatives.\nFoster a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.\nInventory Control & Operations\nManage inventory control processes, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations, investigations, inventory adjustments, and supply management.\nEnsure inventory accuracy meets or exceeds company and customer standards.\nMonitor inventory transactions and system integrity within Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.\nAnalyze inventory performance data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.\nOversee inventory disposition activities, including expiration management, product holds, recalls, quarantined inventory, and product destruction.\nCompliance & Quality\nEnsure compliance with cGMP, FDA, DEA, OSHA, customer, and company requirements.\nMaintain audit readiness and support internal, customer, regulatory, and quality audits.\nReview and manage inventory-related SOPs, Work Instructions, and controlled documentation.\nSupport investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and quality system initiatives.\nReporting & Continuous Improvement\nMonitor and report key inventory metrics, including inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, inventory aging, adjustments, and service-related issues.\nConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nLead process improvement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy, productivity, compliance, and customer satisfaction.\nSupport inventory strategy, capacity planning, and operational growth initiatives.\nCross-Functional Partnership\nCollaborate with Operations, Quality, Transportation, Maintenance, IT, Customer Care, and Client Services teams.\nServe as a primary inventory subject matter expert for customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders.\nSupport client implementations, inventory migrations, and operational improvement projects.\nBasic Requirements\nMinimum Education & Typical Experience or Equivalent Combination\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.\nTypically requires 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience leading inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain operations, or distribution center teams.\nExperience managing inventory accuracy, cycle counting, physical inventories, reconciliations, and inventory investigations.\nExperience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and inventory reporting tools.\nDemonstrated experience leading teams and driving operational performance.\nExperience working in regulated environments requiring compliance and audit readiness.\nPreferred Skills / Experience\nExperience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, biotechnology, or regulated 3PL distribution environments.\nKnowledge of FDA, DEA, cGMP, GDP, and quality system requirements.\nLean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence certification.\nExperience leading multi-site inventory operations or network-wide inventory initiatives.\nAdvanced analytical and reporting capabilities, including Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.\nStrong customer-facing experience and client relationship management skills.\nExperience with inventory optimization, automation, or process digitization initiatives.\nWorking knowledge of cold-chain, temperature-controlled inventory, or controlled substance management.\nWork Environment, Travel & Physical Requirements\nPrimarily based within a distribution center environment.\nFrequent interaction with warehouse operations and inventory storage areas.\nAbility to walk warehouse floors and conduct inventory observations and audits.\nOccasional travel may be required to support customer, operational, or business initiatives.\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
