This role serves as an experienced technical contributor supporting production network operations, security controls, compliance requirements, and infrastructure reliability.\nThe position requires strong hands-on expertise with Palo Alto and Cisco firewall technologies, along with experience supporting enterprise networking, load balancing, cloud connectivity, and operational infrastructure services. The engineer will work closely with Systems Administration, Senior Systems Engineering, Senior Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) teams to ensure the availability, security, and compliance of critical infrastructure supporting regulated business operations.\nThe ideal candidate is an experienced network professional who can independently support complex production environments, maintain accurate technical documentation, contribute to security and compliance activities, and help protect sensitive information including PII and PHI.\nKey Responsibilities\nNetwork Security Administration\nAdminister and support Palo Alto Networks firewall platforms.\nAdminister and support Cisco firewall technologies.\nImplement approved firewall rules, VPN configurations, NAT policies, and network segmentation requirements.\nAssist with vulnerability remediation and security hardening activities.\nParticipate in security incident investigation and resolution efforts.\nSupport implementation of security controls and approved security baselines.\nNetwork Infrastructure Operations\nSupport Cisco switching and routing environments.\nTroubleshoot and resolve network connectivity and performance issues.\nSupport network infrastructure upgrades and lifecycle management activities.\nParticipate in change management processes and maintenance activities.\nPerform root cause analysis on network service incidents.\nLoad Balancing and Application Delivery\nSupport F5 load balancing technologies.\nMaintain virtual servers, traffic management policies, SSL configurations, and application delivery services.\nPartner with application support teams to maintain highly available services.\nOperational Infrastructure Support\nApply patches, firmware updates, hotfixes, and security updates.\nPerform user administration and access management activities.\nExecute operational maintenance procedures and validation activities.\nSupport disaster recovery and business continuity testing activities.\nMaintain operational runbooks and support procedures.\nCompliance and Regulatory Support\nSupport infrastructure operating within a federal, healthcare, or otherwise highly regulated environment.\nParticipate in audit readiness, evidence collection, and remediation activities.\nAssist with maintenance of technical controls aligned to regulatory and security requirements.\nSupport protection of sensitive information including PII and PHI.\nFollow established configuration management and change control processes.\nMonitoring and Observability\nUtilize monitoring and observability platforms to identify service and infrastructure issues.\nReview network health, capacity, availability, and performance metrics.\nSupport operational reporting and dashboard development.\nParticipate in continuous service improvement initiatives.\nDocumentation and Collaboration\nDevelop and maintain network diagrams, technical procedures, standards documentation, and operational guides.\nMaintain accurate and audit-ready documentation.\nCollaborate with Systems Administration, Senior Systems Engineering, Senior Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, and GRC teams.\nParticipate in incident, change, and problem management processes.\nMinimum Requirements\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.\nExperience\nTypically requires 4+ years of relevant network engineering, network administration, or network security experience.\nExperience administering Palo Alto firewalls.\nExperience administering Cisco firewalls.\nExperience supporting Cisco switching environments.\nExperience supporting enterprise production infrastructure.\nExperience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.\nExperience performing operational maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, and
