If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.\nJob Summary\nThe Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, performance, and compliance of warehouse and distribution operations supporting the storage, handling, and distribution of temperature-sensitive blood plasma and biologic products. This role provides leadership across multiple functional areas, including receiving, putaway, replenishment, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation coordination.\nKey Responsibilities\nOperational Leadership\nProvide leadership and direction for all warehouse and plasma distribution operations.\nEstablish operational strategies to achieve customer service, quality, inventory, safety, and financial objectives.\nMonitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when necessary.\nDevelop workforce plans to support current and future business requirements.\nPartner with site leadership to support business growth, customer onboarding, capacity planning, and operational scalability.\nEnsure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and regulatory requirements.\nLead daily, weekly, and monthly operational reviews focused on performance, service, quality, and continuous improvement.\nPlasma Operations\nProvide oversight for the receipt, storage, movement, and distribution of blood plasma and plasma-derived products.\nEnsure compliance with all customer requirements, GMP, GDP, FDA, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards.\nLead investigations involving product variances, quality events, temperature excursions, customer complaints, and inventory discrepancies.\nPartner with Quality leadership to ensure audit readiness and successful customer, regulatory, and internal audits.\nDrive initiatives to enhance product integrity, process compliance, and customer satisfaction.\nFinancial & Business Management\nAnalyze labor utilization, productivity, and throughput metrics to maximize operational efficiency.\nIdentify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining service, quality, and compliance standards.\nSupport contract performance requirements and customer service level agreements (SLAs).\nParticipate in customer business reviews and operational performance discussions.\nDevelop business cases and recommendations for staffing, equipment, technology, and capital investments.\nSafety & Compliance\nEnsure compliance with all company safety policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.\nReview incident trends and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nLead investigations involving workplace injuries, near misses, product incidents, and compliance concerns.\nEnsure completion of required certifications, regulatory training, and compliance programs.\nLeadership & Talent Development\nLead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leads, and operational personnel.\nEstablish clear performance expectations and accountability measures.\nConduct performance reviews, talent assessments, succession planning, and development discussions.\nSupport recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.\nDrive improvements in productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, service performance, and employee engagement.\nUtilize data and operational metrics to identify opportunities and measure results.\nPartner with Engineering, Quality, and Inventory Control teams to improve processes and eliminate waste.\nImplement sustainable solutions that improve throughput, compliance, and customer satisfaction.\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.\n5+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.\nExperience operating within a regulated environment preferred, including pharmaceutical, biologics, healthcare, cold chain, or FDA-regulated operations.\nStrong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation, and material handling systems.\nDemonstrated experience managing operational metrics, budgets, labor planning, and customer service performance.\nExperience leading continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.\nStrong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.\nSchedule\nPrimary support for operations running:Sunday - Wednesday, 7:00 AM start, and/or\nWednesday - Saturday, 7:00 AM start\n\nMust maintain flexibility to support multiple shifts, weekends, holidays, and changing business requirements.\nSchedule and support requirements are subject to change based on customer and business needs.\nWorking Conditions\nRegular leadership presence within warehouse, refrigerated, freezer, and ultra-low temperature environments ranging from -20°C to -30°C.\nExposure to blood plasma, biologic products, and materials requiring specialized handling procedures.\nAbility to wear required cold-weather gear and personal protective equipment while supporting operations.\nFrequent walking, standing, and facility inspections across operational areas.\nThis position serves as a senior operational leader responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient storage, movement, and distribution of temperature-sensitive blood plasma and biologic products while driving business performance, customer satisfaction, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
