This role oversees receiving, warehousing, inventory management, replenishment, shipping, and product distribution activities while ensuring inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.\nThe position is accountable for the security, integrity, and availability of inventory; the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility; and the development of operational processes that support business objectives. Through leadership of supervisors and frontline teams, this role drives safety, quality, productivity, service, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. The role combines responsibilities from the CDC Field Operations and CDC Inventory Control job families.\nSchedule: Monday - Friday / 7 am to completion\nKey Responsibilities\nOperations Management\nDirect and oversee daily distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, replenishment, inventory movement, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns.\nEnsure materials and products are received from approved vendors, processed accurately, stored appropriately, and distributed in a timely manner.\nMonitor workflow, operational performance, and resource utilization to achieve established service, quality, productivity, and compliance objectives.\nAnalyze operational reports, records, and performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.\nEstablish priorities, resolve operational issues, and ensure timely execution of departmental goals and customer commitments.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve operational effectiveness.\nInventory Management\nMaintain accountability for inventory accuracy, security, identification, and accessibility.\nLead cycle counting programs, physical inventories, reconciliations, investigations, and inventory adjustment processes.\nEnsure inventory transactions are properly executed and inventory records accurately reflect physical inventory.\nAnalyze inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nMonitor inventory levels and coordinate inventory requirements to support operational and customer needs.\nEnsure the accurate and secure documentation of inventory, materials, and equipment.\nCompliance & Quality\nEnsure compliance with CDC program requirements, company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.\nMaintain audit readiness and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits.\nPromote adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and inventory management controls.\nSupport investigations related to inventory variances, quality events, and operational deviations.\nProtect product integrity through proper handling, storage, and inventory control practices.\nFinancial & Business Management\nMonitor labor utilization, operational expenses, and inventory adjustment trends.\nSupport budget planning and management activities.\nAnalyze operational and inventory performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization.\nUtilize data-driven decision-making to improve departmental performance.\nPeople Leadership\nSupervise, coach, and develop supervisors, leads, and team members.\nDevelop work schedules, assign resources, and monitor workflow to achieve business objectives.\nConduct performance management, talent development, and succession planning activities.\nFoster a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.\nCommunicate departmental goals, performance expectations, and organizational priorities.\nMinimum Requirements\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.\nMinimum Experience\nTypically 6+ years of professional experience in operations, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, supply chain, distribution, or a related field.\nTypically 0-2 years of supervisory experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, CDC, VFC, vaccine distribution, or other regulated environments.\nExperience with ERP, SAP, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control systems.\nExperience managing inventory accuracy programs, cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes.\nDemonstrated success leading operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
