If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.\nAn SOE (Service Operations Engineering) Cloud Architect for McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) will help design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions for McKesson’s customer-critical SaaS product offerings. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure preferred), infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native application design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud strategies with our SaaS offerings and business goals to ensure optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and security.\nThis individual will be responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs for large, highly integrated, and complex cloud solutions. The SOE Architect acts as an advocate for the client, as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems and will provide direction for design activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure.\nLead cloud migration and modernization efforts for mission-critical SaaS applications.\nPartner with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to improve platform performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.\nProvide architectural guidance for Java-based applications, containerized workloads, and large-scale database environments.\nEvaluate and recommend cloud technologies, automation strategies, and best practices.\nSupport customer-facing technical discussions and complex issue resolution.\nEstablish and promote cloud governance, security, and compliance standards.\nContribute to the adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities that enhance engineering productivity and innovation. \nMinimum Requirement\nDegree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.\nCritical Skills\n4+ years experience in designing, building, and implementing software business solutions on cloud platforms\nExperience with / knowledge of various architectural techniques and implementations such as Services Oriented Architecture, loosely coupled design techniques, composite application design, and cloud architecture\nFamiliarity with crosscutting non-functional requirements of cloud technologies including security, performance, scalability, maintainability (deployment), reliability, and supportability\nExperience in a customer-facing technical consultancy setting\nStrong verbal and written communications skills; ability and willingness to develop and maintain internal- and customer-facing technical and procedural documentation\nFamiliarity with high-availability technologies, concepts, and architectural techniques provided by the cloud\nUnderstanding of information security and risk management concepts, regulations, and certifications including disaster recovery, PHI, HIPAA, PCI, etc.; and information security and system access control policies and processes\nExperience architecting cloud solutions on platforms such as Azure using technologies such as AKS, Docker, Function Apps, Service Buses, Storage Accounts, etc.\nExperience with A.I. related tools such as CoPilot to speed application architecture and software design\nTechnical Skills\nExperience designing and supporting cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Function Apps, Service Bus, and related platform services.\nStrong background with Java applications and enterprise architecture principles.\nExperience with Oracle and large-scale database-driven applications.\nHands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.\nKnowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting, and cloud operations.\nExperience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Azure Monitor.\nUnderstanding of security, identity management, disaster recovery, and high-availability design.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences, including customers.\nPreferred (Not Required)\nExperience supporting healthcare, pharmacy, or other highly regulated technology environments.\nExperience leading enterprise cloud migration and modernization initiatives.\nFamiliarity with AI-enabled development, architecture, or operational tools.\nAzure certifications or other cloud architecture certifications.\nExperience with large-scale SaaS platforms and complex production environments.\nKnowledge of Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.\nExperience managing large-scale systems or operations projects\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
