If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.\nWe are seeking a Software Engineer with deep interest and experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) to help design, build, and secure authentication and authorization capabilities across CoverMyMeds’ platforms. This role sits on acore IAM platform team that owns end-user identity, federated authentication, and authentication infrastructure for web applications, partnering closely with Security, Product, and other engineering teams.\nThis is ahands-on individual contributor role in a product-oriented, Kanban-driven environment, where impact is achieved through technical depth, secure engineering practices, and collaboration.\nWhat You’ll Do\nIdentity Engineering & Integrations\nDesign, build, and maintain authentication and authorization solutions usingOIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.\n\nIntegrate applications and APIs with identity platforms such asOkta, Auth0, Ping, or Microsoft Entra ID.\n\nImplementSSO, MFA, federated authentication, session management, and secure token handling.\n\nContribute to identity services such as login gateways, authorization middleware, claims transformation, and access policy enforcement.\n\nSupport SMART on FHIR (OAuth 2.0) use cases and unified authentication initiatives.\n\nSecurity & Standards\nApply industry-standard security practices includingleast privilege, secure defaults, defense in depth, and secure secret handling.\n\nPartner with Security onthreat modeling, risk reviews, and secure SDLC practices.\n\nImplement identity solutions aligned withNIST-based identity and access control principles.\n\nSoftware Development & Delivery\nBuild production-quality systems using one or more of JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Python, or C#.\n\nWrite clean, testable, maintainable code with strong engineering discipline (CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing).\n\nCreate clear technical documentation for APIs, integrations, and operational support.\n\nParticipate in on-call or operational support for critical identity services as needed.\n\nWays of Working\nWork within aKanban delivery model, managing flow and continuously improving quality and throughput.\n\nCollaborate with Product, Security, and stakeholders to define outcomes and manage tradeoffs.\n\nBring anenterprise-first mindset, constructively challenging designs and contributing new ideas.\n\nPriority will be given to candidates who reside in theColumbus, OH metropolitan area.\nWe are unable to provide sponsorship for this role now or in the future.\nMinimum Qualifications\nDegree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience\nEducation\nDegreenot required.\n\nCritical Skills:\n4+ years' experience building and shipping production software as an individual contributor.\n\nDeep experience (4+ years) with Okta and/or Auth0 (policies, apps, federation, claims).\n\nHands-on experience (4+ years)implementing or integratingauthentication and authorization using OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and/or SAML.\n\nStrong understanding ofsecure engineering practices and common identity threats.\n\nExperience working in at least one of the following:JavaScript/TypeScript, Ruby, Python, C#.\n\nAbility to collaborate across engineering, product, and security teams and communicate technical decisions clearly.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience withSMART on FHIR, SCIM, directory integrations, or identity lifecycle management.\n\nFamiliarity withRBAC/ABAC, claims-based authorization, or policy engines.\n\nExperience in regulated environments and audit support.\n\nExperience improving reliability of critical auth systems (SLIs/SLOs, graceful degradation).\n\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
