Working under the guidance of senior engineers and QA leads, the engineer will contribute to validating web applications, APIs, backend services, data workflows, and AI-driven features to ensure high levels of product quality, reliability, and performance.\nThis role partners closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Operations teams to support the delivery of secure, scalable, and customer-focused healthcare technology solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nQuality Engineering Ownership & Execution\nExecute test plans and test cases for assigned features and product modules.\n\nParticipate in requirement reviews and contribute to test scenario identification.\n\nIdentify and document defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.\n\nPerform functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.\n\nSupport release validation activities across multiple environments.\n\nTest Automation & Framework Development\nDevelop and maintain automated test scripts for UI, API, and service-layer testing.\n\nContribute to existing automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, TOSCA, or equivalent technologies.\n\nDevelop and execute API automation tests using tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar frameworks.\n\nSupport integration of automation suites into CI/CD pipelines.\n\nUtilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools to improve productivity and test coverage.\n\nAI / GenAI Quality Engineering\nAssist in validating AI-enabled and GenAI-powered product features.\n\nParticipate in testing prompt-based workflows and AI-generated responses.\n\nSupport validation activities focused on response accuracy, consistency, and reliability.\n\nExecute predefined test scenarios covering prompt variations and edge cases.\n\nDevelop familiarity with concepts such as LLMs, prompts, RAG, AI agents, and guardrails.\n\nUtilize AI-powered tools to assist with test scenario generation and exploratory testing.\n\n Backend & Data Testing\nPerform backend testing using SQL and/or NoSQL data systems.\n\nValidate data ingestion, transformations, persistence, and integrity across services and environments.\n\nAssist with testing asynchronous workflows and integrations (e.g., message queues, APIs, batch processes).\n\nAgile Collaboration\nCollaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners throughout the development lifecycle.\n\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.\n\nSupport shift-left testing practices by engaging early in feature development.\n\nQuality Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement\nContribute audit-ready documentation, including test plans, execution evidence, and reports.\n\nParticipate in root-cause discussions for quality issues and contribute to corrective actions.\n\nIdentify opportunities for improving QA processes, tools, and documentation; contribute suggestions through established continuous improvement channels.\n\nResearch and evaluate new QA, automation, or performance testing, AI assisted tools and techniques as appropriate.\n\nMinimum Requirement\nDegree or equivalent and typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.\nCritical Skills\n2+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience.\n\n2+ years of hands-on test automation experience.\n\nExperience with at least one automation framework such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or TOSCA.\n\nExperience with API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent tools.\n\nProficiency in Java, Python, or JavaScript.\n\nExperience working in Agile development environments.\n\nBasic understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.\n\nExperience with SQL for backend validation and data testing.\n\nFamiliarity with Git-based source control systems.\n\nAdditional Skills:\nExposure to AI/GenAI testing concepts.\n\nExperience testing LLM-powered or AI-enabled applications.\n\nUnderstanding of prompt engineering and prompt validation.\n\nFamiliarity with RAG architectures and AI evaluation techniques.\n\nKnowledge of healthcare technology or regulated environments.\n\nExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.\n\nWorking Conditions\nFull-time in office role based in Bangalore, India (IST).\n\nCollaboration with distributed, cross-functional teams.\n\nMcKesson has become aware of online recruiting-related scams in which individuals who are not affiliated with or authorized by McKesson are using McKesson’s (or affiliated entities, like CoverMyMeds or RxCrossroads) name in fraudulent emails, job postings or social media messages.
