The remaining days may be worked remotely, subject to team and business needs.\nAbout the Role (Job Summary):\nMcKesson Specialty Health is seeking a strategic and collaborative Sr. Manager, Data Governance & Quality to lead the development and execution of our data governance strategy across Specialty Health. Reporting to the Director, Data Orchestration & Strategic Partnerships, this role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, security, and compliance of critical healthcare and patient data assets.\nThe successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders, Legal, Compliance, Enterprise Data Governance, and technology teams to establish governance frameworks, improve data quality, support regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of data stewardship across the organization.\nWhat You'll Do (Responsibilities):\nLead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a data governance and data quality framework aligned with Enterprise Data Governance standards.\n\nServe as the primary Specialty Health representative for enterprise data governance initiatives and compliance requirements.\n\nChair the Data Governance Council and drive stakeholder alignment on data strategy, quality, ownership, and stewardship.\n\nEstablish governance policies, standards, controls, and operating procedures to improve data integrity, consistency, and reliability.\n\nDefine and monitor data quality metrics, KPIs, business rules, and scorecards.\n\nPartner with business and technology stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.\n\nLead initiatives related to data profiling, cleansing, validation, enrichment, and monitoring.\n\nDefine and support data stewardship and data ownership roles across the organization.\n\nCollaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Privacy teams to ensure adherence to applicable healthcare data privacy and security requirements.\n\nSupport data governance initiatives including data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, classification, retention, and access controls.\n\nEvaluate and implement data governance tools and capabilities, including platforms such as Alation.\n\nDevelop and deliver training, communications, and change management initiatives that increase data governance adoption.\n\nMonitor emerging industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in healthcare data governance and quality management.\n\nBasic Requirements:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, Data Compliance, or a related field.\n\nExperience mentoring or leading high-performing teams.\n\nExperience developing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.\n\nExperience establishing and managing data quality programs, metrics, controls, and remediation initiatives.\n\nExperience working with cross-functional stakeholders across business, technology, compliance, and legal functions.\n\nExperience with data governance platforms and tools (e.g., Alation or similar).\n\nStrong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.\n\nPreferred Skills/Experience:\nHealthcare, biopharma, specialty health, payer, provider, or patient-support services experience.\n\nExperience working with sensitive healthcare or patient data.\n\nKnowledge of Canadian privacy and healthcare regulations, including PIPEDA.\n\nExperience with metadata management, data lineage, data cataloging, and master data management (MDM).\n\nExperience leading governance councils, steering committees, or enterprise data initiatives.\n\nAdvanced degree in a related discipline.\n\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
