This leader will build and manage a team of domain data analysts and data stewards who support business domains by addressing data quality, lineage, metadata, catalog, and data product control needs.\nThis is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a developing data governance function. You will translate governance strategies, policies, and standards into practical services that help teams understand, manage, and improve their data. Success requires data governance expertise, service-oriented leadership, strong change-management skills, and the ability to influence partners without relying on formal authority.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nLead and develop a team of domain data analysts and data stewards responsible for the day-to-day implementation of data governance and data quality controls\nImplement and maintain the CoverMyMeds data enablement framework, including policies, standards, and procedures for data management, data quality, lineage, metadata, and responsible data use\nOperationalize data governance capabilities across data quality, business and technical metadata, data lineage, data cataloging, and data product controls.\nPartner with domain data officers, data owners, enterprise architecture, IT security, legal, compliance, and technology teams to establish accountability and embed governance practices into business operations\nAlign data analysts and stewards with business domains, enabling them to develop subject-matter expertise and serve as a first point of contact for data-related issues\nGuide the identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation of data quality issues in partnership with data owners and technology teams.\nDefine and monitor data enablement metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.\nDrive adoption and change by communicating the value of new data governance services, building cross-functional support, and helping teams succeed in a developing operating model.\nPromote compliance with applicable data privacy requirements and internal data security policies, including considerations related to GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.\nCoach and support team members through clear goals, ongoing feedback, collaborative problem-solving, and a service-oriented leadership approach\nBasic Requirements:\nDegree or equivalent experience, and typically requires 9+ years of relative professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience\nExperience implementing or operating data governance, data management, or data enablement programs in a complex organization\nKnowledge of data governance principles and practices, including data quality, metadata management, data lineage, data cataloging, and data stewardship\nExperience leading people, teams, or cross-functional initiatives, including situations requiring influence without direct authority\nExperience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to translate data governance policies and standards into operational processes\nDemonstrated communication and change-management skills, including the ability to build understanding and adoption of new capabilities\nExperience identifying, assessing, and coordinating the resolution of data quality or data management issues\nAbility to analyze complex issues, establish priorities, and coordinate team activities to deliver practical solutions\nPreferred Skills / Experience:\nFamiliarity with data governance frameworks and industry practices, such as DAMA-DMBOK\nExperience using enterprise data catalogs such as Alation, Collibra, or IBM InfoSphere. CoverMyMeds currently uses Alation as its data catalog, while experience with comparable platforms is relevant\nFamiliarity with master data management concepts, frameworks, or technologies, including platforms from IBM or Informatica\nAbility to read or interpret SQL and investigate data, metadata, or catalog information when hands-on support is needed\nExperience working with healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated data\nExperience helping establish a new team, service, or operating model in a developing or greenfield environment\nWe are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
