This role partners with business, product, engineering, security, and operations teams to define architecture strategies, roadmap future-state capabilities, and guide delivery across enterprise platforms.\nThe ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, integration patterns, enterprise application architecture, and modern software engineering practices. This role influences strategic technology decisions and provides technical leadership across complex, cross-functional initiatives.\nWhat You'll Do\nDefine architecture strategies, target-state roadmaps, standards, and governance frameworks aligned with business objectives.\nDesign enterprise-scale solutions leveraging cloud-native, microservices, API-first, and event-driven architectures. \nLead architecture assessments, fit-gap analyses, and modernization initiatives across complex application portfolios.\nEstablish scalable integration patterns using APIs, middleware, messaging platforms, and event streaming technologies. \nPartner with engineering teams to implement DevSecOps, CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, observability, and reliability best practices.\nCollaborate with security teams to embed secure-by-design principles, identity management, and regulatory compliance requirements.\nEvaluate emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI capabilities, and define reusable architecture patterns that create business value.\nMentor architects and engineers while influencing enterprise technology direction and architecture governance. \n\nBasic Requirements7+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Software Engineering, or related technology leadership roles.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\nExperience designing and delivering enterprise-scale distributed applications in complex environments.\nExpertise in Enterprise Application Architecture and solution design across multiple business domains.\nHands-on experience with Cloud Architecture, preferably Microsoft Azure.\nStrong experience in Microservices Architecture, API Architecture, and Integration Patterns.\nProven experience supporting architecture governance, standards development, and enterprise technology roadmaps.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate architecture decisions, risks, and tradeoffs to technical and business stakeholders.\n\nPreferred Skills/Experience\nEvent-Driven Architecture and Composable Architecture design experience.\nData Architecture fundamentals including data integration, data modeling, and data platform concepts.\nSecurity Architecture, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Zero Trust, and secure-by-design practices.\nContainer technologies and Kubernetes platform architecture.\nDevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.\nPerformance engineering, scalability optimization, and resiliency design.\nAI/GenAI integration patterns, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI solution design.\nObservability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), monitoring, logging, and operational excellence practices.\nAt McKesson, we care about the well-being of the patients and communities we serve, and that starts with caring for our people.
