This role is accountable for ensuring complex, cross-platform HCM initiatives are technically executable, well-integrated, production-ready, and delivered with strong engineering and operational discipline.\nThe Technical Delivery Lead works horizontally across HCM platforms and partners closely with the HCM Architect, Solution Managers, Vendor Operations Lead, Portfolio/Program Management, enterprise technology teams, and strategic delivery partners.\nThe role does not replace the delivery accountability of individual Solution Managers. Instead, it provides technical leadership where initiatives, dependencies, risks, or engineering challenges span technologies, solution domains, or organizational boundaries.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Delivery Leadership\nLead technical execution of complex HCM initiatives spanning multiple platforms, integrations, vendors, and enterprise technology teams.\nTranslate approved architecture and solution direction into executable technical delivery approaches.\nIn partnership with HCM Architects and Portfolio Lead, identify and resolve technical dependencies across Workday, ADP Workforce Management, Payroll, Total Rewards, identity and access management, ServiceNow, integrations, and downstream enterprise applications.\nEstablish clear technical workstreams, dependencies, sequencing, risks, and readiness criteria for major initiatives.\nIntervene where delivery requires coordination or decisions across multiple Solution Manager domains.\nProvide objective assessments of technical feasibility, complexity, risk, and delivery readiness.\nStandardize delivery KPIs across HCM portfolio. Centralize reporting of PI, and small projects\nEngineering & Technical Delivery Excellence\nEstablish and drive consistent engineering and technical delivery practices across the HCM portfolio.\nEnsure appropriate standards for development, peer review, testing, migration, deployment, source/configuration management, and production validation.\nPartner with the HCM Architect to ensure architecture standards and patterns are effectively operationalized through delivery.\nDrive consistency in technical documentation and engineering controls across internal teams and strategic partners.\nEnsure technical delivery reviews for complex, high-risk, or cross-platform changes.\nIdentify systemic engineering weaknesses and drive corrective action with the appropriate Solution Managers and delivery partners.\nStandardize intake mechanism for all HCM in alignment with Employee Enablement Portfolio\nStandardize Work item tracking and reporting across HCM portfolio\nIdentify opportunities to cross share resources across the various delivery teams\nCross-Platform Integration & Dependency Management\nBring in the right SMEs to provide technical leadership for dependencies that span HCM products and enterprise services.\nEnsure upstream and downstream impacts are identified before implementation.\nFacilitate technical decisions when ownership crosses organizational boundaries.\nProduction & Release Readiness\nEstablish common technical readiness expectations for major HCM releases (including appropriate testing, monitoring, deployment, rollback, recovery, support, and stabilization approaches are defined)\nLead cross-platform technical readiness assessments for significant deployments.\nFacilitate technical go/no-go recommendations for high-risk or cross-platform deployments.\nEnsure operational support teams are appropriately prepared before introducing significant technology changes into production.\nIncident, Problem & Stability Leadership\nCoordinate technical leadership for significant incidents that span platforms or where technical ownership is initially unclear.\nCoordinate cross-HCM technical teams during major incidents as needed.\nEnsure root-cause analyses identify underlying engineering, integration, or architecture issues rather than only the immediate symptom.\nDrive technical remediation when corrective actions span multiple platforms or Solution Manager domains.\nTechnical Risk & Governance\nMaintain visibility into significant technical risks across HCM.\nEscalate material technical risks with a clear assessment of impact, options, and recommended actions.\nEstablish technical delivery health measures and provide transparent reporting on significant risks and dependencies.\nSupport portfolio planning with assessments of technical complexity, sequencing, dependencies, and capacity requirements.\nPartner with the Vendor Operations Lead where vendor technical capability or engineering quality creates systemic risk.\nDecision Rights\nThe Technical Delivery Lead is empowered to:\nRequire remediation where engineering or production controls are insufficient.\nEscalate or recommend stopping technically unready high-risk deployments.\nEstablish and enforce HCM technical delivery practices.\nConvene technical teams to resolve cross-platform delivery issues.\nDetermine the appropriate technical execution approach within approved architecture.\nEscalate architecture exceptions to the HCM Architect.\nEscalate material business-priority, funding, or risk-acceptance decisions to HCM leadership.\nQualifications & Experience\n5+ years of progressive experience in enterprise application and technology delivery.\nSignificant experience leading complex HCM, ERP, or business-critical SaaS environments.\nStrong knowledge of Workday and enterprise integration architectures, APIs, web services, IAM, security, middleware, and downstream enterprise integrations.\nExperience with payroll, workforce management, or other high-availability enterprise platforms strongly preferred.\nDemonstrated experience with engineering controls, release/change management, testing, production readiness, incident/problem management, and root-cause analysis.\nExperience leading technical delivery across internal teams, offshore/onshore resources, system integrators, and managed-service providers.\nAbility to influence architecture, application, engineering, security, business, and vendor stakeholders without relying on formal authority.\nStrong executive communication and technical decision-making capabilities.\nMeasures of Success\nImproved predictability and quality of complex technical delivery.\nFewer cross-platform failures and recurring technical incidents.\nStronger production readiness and engineering controls.\nFaster resolution of cross-HCM technical dependencies.\nReduced technical debt and unnecessary
