You will have the tools and resources in place to manage a highly successful team of individuals.\nPosition Description:\nSupervise and lead a team of Class A Commercial Drivers during night-shift operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time transportation of freight.\nOversee the daily movement of freight from the Lehigh Valley Distribution Center to five regional cross-dock locations throughout the NY, NJ & PA region.\nMonitor driver performance and adherence to company safety standards, policies, and operating procedures.\nEnsure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and company transportation regulations.\nReview and monitor Omnitracs XRS electronic logs to ensure Hours of Service (HOS) compliance and address violations proactively.\nCoach and develop drivers utilizing Netradyne safety and performance data, providing feedback to improve driving behaviors and reduce risk.\nConduct driver observations, safety reviews, ride-alongs, and performance discussions to support continuous improvement.\nInvestigate and document transportation incidents, accidents, and safety concerns, implementing corrective actions as necessary.\nCoordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, and roadside service with vehicle lease providers and maintenance vendors.\nMaintain fleet readiness by monitoring equipment condition, ensuring regulatory inspections are completed, and minimizing downtime.\nSupport warehouse and distribution center operations, including freight handling, loading, unloading, staging, and operational coordination as business needs require.\nCollaborate with warehouse leadership to ensure efficient freight flow and operational continuity during overnight shifts.\nAssist with route planning, schedule adjustments, dispatch activities, and contingency planning to meet customer and business requirements.\nEnsure proper securement, handling, and transportation of freight while maintaining service and productivity expectations.\nOperate Class A tractor-trailers, 26-foot straight trucks, and sprinter vans as needed to support business operations and service requirements.\nUtilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to prepare reports, analyze transportation data, track performance metrics, and communicate operational updates.\nMonitor transportation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including safety, service, equipment utilization, and driver productivity.\nMaintain accurate transportation, safety, maintenance, and compliance records.\nPartner with operations leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced transportation efficiency.\nProvide after-hours operational support and decision-making to ensure uninterrupted transportation and distribution operations.\nMinimum Requirements:\nTypically requires 3+ years of subject matter experience including exhibiting leadership capabilities\nSkills and Experience:\n3+ years transportation experience and demonstrated leadership skills\n2 years’ experience in a straight truck delivery vehicle or larger \n2 years’ experience driving a combination tractor-trailer truck\nMust be willing to cover for any driving position if required\nRequired to have a current valid US Class A Commercial Driver’s License \nAbility to maintain a safe driving history \nMust be 21 years of age or older\nMust successfully complete and be able to maintain requirements of physical set by DOT\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in a warehouse, distribution center, and outdoor environment, including prolonged standing, walking, and frequent movement throughout the facility and yard.\nAbility to safely operate and enter/exit Class A tractor-trailers, straight trucks, and commercial vehicles, including performing vehicle inspections requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.\nAbility to lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and work overnight hours in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.\n About MMS\nMcKesson Medical-Surgical (MMS), which is expected to become Wellverse in early 2027, is a subsidiary and publicly reported segment of the McKesson Corporation.
