Our Finance Division plays a vital role in supporting these efforts by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency in all financial operations.\nPosition Summary\nWashington Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Accountantto support payroll operations and oversee the accountspayable function. Reporting to the Accounting Manager of Accounts Payable and Payroll, this role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, effective vendor management, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to process improvements and help strengthen the organization’s overall financial health.\nKey Responsibilities\nPayroll Support\nManage and process payroll to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.\nReview and reconcile payroll data, benefits, and deductions.\nResolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries promptly.\nPartner with HR to maintain accurate payroll information and ensure compliance with labor and tax laws.\nAccounts Payable Oversight\nSupervise and perform accounts payable operations, including invoice processing and vendor payments.\nEnsure timely, accurate payments with proper documentation and approvals.\nMonitor AP aging reports and resolve vendor discrepancies.\nMaintain compliance with internal controls and financial policies.\nFinancial Reporting & Analysis\nPrepare and analyze payroll and AP-related financial reports.\nReconcile related general ledger accounts and investigate variances.\nProvide insights and recommendations to management for process or performance improvement.\nCompliance & Audit Support\nEnsure adherence to GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.\nPrepare documentation and support external and internal audit activities.\nLeadership & Collaboration\nTrain and mentor staff involved in payroll and accounts payable.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with HR, Supply Chain, and other departments to meet financial objectives.\nParticipate in special projects and identify opportunities for workflow automation and efficiency.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degreein Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with emphasis on payroll and accounts payable.\nPrior supervisory experience preferred.\nStrong understanding of payroll and AP processes and regulatory requirements.\nProficiency with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, ADP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n Washington Hospital Health System does not utilize any form of electronic chatting, such as Google chat for the purposes of interviewing candidates for employment.
