Oversees employees responsible for tanking, cleaning, and service lane functions while ensuring compliance with maintenance standards, safety procedures, and operational readiness requirements.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nProvides effective tank house supervision while maintaining a high level of service, cleaning standards and production. Monitors timeliness and completion of all tank house or inside-wash functions.\nEnsures the completion and accuracy of all maintenance records and documents, including daily reports and accident reports etc.\nProvides training, advice, direction and guidance to all maintenance staff with emphasis on new hires.\nPerforms inspections to ensure all buses are clean, safe, reliable and ready for their morning routes.\nEnforces company policies and procedures and issue disciplines as needed.\nEnsures building and grounds are clean, tidy and all vital functions are working properly. \nCreates work orders as needed for building repairs.\nMaterial and inventory oversight, monitor supplies and maintain inventory levels for service operations.\nTracks productivity and performance, schedule shifts and assign crews.\nInvestigates accidents and enters reporting data.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nThree (3) years of experience in fleet maintenance, servicing, or transit operations.\nAssociate's Degree in Business management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.\nClass B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brakes required. \nTwo (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.\nExcellent attendance and punctuality required.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nKnowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) and FTA (Federal Transit Administration) regulations preferred.\nKnowledge of diesel engines and other heavy-duty vehicle components and equipment preferred.\nKnowledge of Company’s policies and procedures.\nKnowledge of union contract and policies.\nKnowledge of building construction and electrical fixtures.\nSkilled in computer operations, spreadsheets, word processing, presentations and other related software.\nAbility to manage conflict and balance competing interests from multiple stakeholders.\nAbility to supervise/lead others.\nAbility to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.\nAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.\nAbility to work independently.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:\nWork is frequently conducted in an office, shop, construction or warehouse site environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals or substances, and loud noises.\nPhysical requirements are those described as light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects.\nDISCLAIMER STATEMENT:\nThe above are general requirements that must be met for consideration.
