Follows detailed job specific instructions to ensures processes and procedures are followed in an efficient and productive manner. Works under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.\nAlternate Path Option: Multi-craft position but may have an emphasis in either electrical or mechanical.\nElectrical Path must possess intermediate to advanced electrical and PLC troubleshooting knowledge, skills, and abilities.\n\nMechanical Path requires in-depth hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting knowledge, skills, and abilities.\n\nBoth Paths: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\n1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.\n\nAssists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.\n\nWear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.\n\nUses proper lifting and ergo techniques.\n\nProactively promotes The McWane Way Principles.\n\nInspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction.\n\nPlans and lays out repair work using diagrams, drawings, maintenance manuals, schematics, or other specification to determine repair or installation procedures.\n\nRequests equipment and supplies for maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.\n\nTransports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies to ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.\n\nDiagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them, referencing manuals, draws, or catalogs as needed.\n\nDismantles machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.\n\nInstalls, replaces, changes or repairs machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or testing equipment.\n\nCleans or lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.\n\nRecords production, repair, and machine maintenance information.\n\nElectronically completes CMMS work orders to identify problems and logging man hours for time worked per work order.\n\nCommunicates with supervisor, team lead and/or other trades workers to coordinate installations and complete projects or repairs.\n\nWorks with the team to reduce / eliminate bottlenecks to reach team goals.\n\nWorks on continuous improvement projects.\n\nUnderstands and uses rigging in the use of cranes and hoists.\n\nAssists in root cause analysis and recommends actions to be taken.\n\nADVANCED MECHANICAL PATH\nReads and interprets more complex machine drawings and hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.\n\nAssembles, tests, and troubleshoots hydraulic, pneumatic equipment or systems.\n\nCuts and welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.\n\nReplaces and aligns couplings.\n\nTroubleshoots, repair, and rebuilds hydraulic pumps, water pumps, intensifier pumps.\n\nTracks and replaces conveyor belts.\n\nTroubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds drive systems.\n\nADVANCED ELECTRICAL PATH\nMaintains, troubleshoots, and installs industrial control systems.\n\nRuns and bends conduit to NEC Code Standards.\n\nPulls wires and makes wire terminations.\n\nInspects electrical systems and their components to evaluate condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.\n\nDiagnoses simple to intermediate causes of electrical problems or failures for identifying equipment and/or systems repair.\n\nTests electrical systems and circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.\n\nUnderstands E&I drawings, blueprints, and schematics.\n\nTroubleshoots and diagnoses basic I/O systems.\n\nDesigns and wires start/stop stations.\n\nWires 3-way and 4-way switches.\n\nInstall and replace soft starts and variable frequency drives (VFD).\n\n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma/GED preferred.\n\nCompletion of a vocational certificate program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrician, or related program plus two years’ experience in industrial maintenance, or completion of a formal apprenticeship program plus two years’ experience in industrial maintenance; or four years’ experience in industrial maintenance required.\n\nMust have intermediate computer skills.\n\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\n\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ADVANCED MECHANICAL PATH\nMust be proficient in cutting and welding components.\n\nPassing written exam to demonstrate competency in mechanical maintenance with pneumatic and hydraulics emphasis on valves, pumps, motors.\n\nADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ADVANCED ELECTRICAL PATH\nKnowledge and ability to work on 240 - 480 volt three-phase power and 24 -120-volt controls.\n\nPassing written exam to demonstrate competency in electrical maintenance with higher level electrical emphasis on circuits, motor controls, multi-phase motors, power distribution, and PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting.\n\nLanguage Skills\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to add and subtract and to multiply and divide. Uses mathematics to solve problems.\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
