Conducts daily inspections, audits and quality control functions in a foundry that produces iron components and machines and assembles those components on site into products to be delivered to our customers.\nGeneral Duties and Responsibilities\nProactively exhibits and promotes The McWane Way Principles.\n1st Responsibility - Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members.\nAssists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.\nWear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.\nUses proper lifting and ergo techniques.\nJob Specific Duties and Responsibilities ( Other duties may be assigned.)\nPerforms a variety of activities to ensure compliance with applicable quality objectives and regulatory requirements.\nAnalyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine stands and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished products.\nConfers with customers, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding product specifications.\nCommunicates with management and user team regarding design standards.\nEvaluates precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate a corrective action plan.\nConducts routine and non-routine analysis.\nInterprets test results, compares them to established specifications and control limits, and makes recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.\nPerforms visual inspections of finished goods.\nEstablishes component guidelines for what features need to be inspected and what the quality standards are with collaboration with engineering and production as needed.\nDevelops and writes procedures and work process flow control documents.\nRecommends updates and improvements to our Quality Management System (QMS) as needed.\nAudits our internal systems, processes, and procedures based on ISO 9001 requirements.\nInspects fire hydrant and valve components and materials as needed to verify form, fit, and function.\nInvestigates issues cited from customer returned product.\nResponsible for the complete calibration program including Machine Shop, Foundry and related areas measuring and testing equipment.\nResponds to Corrective Action Requests. Issue Corrective Action Requests as needed.\nReviews current drawings in regard to quality documentation.\nSets and tracks quality assurance goals (e.g. reduce scrap in a specific work cell by 20% for year over year).\nAssists external quality assurance auditors and inspectors with audits and inspections as needed.\nWorks with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.\nMathematical Skills\nAbility to use basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to use statistics including averages, standard deviations, probabilities and related. Ability to apply mathematical operations to manufacturing applications.\nReasoning Ability\nAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
