The Process Specialist supports high-volume manufacturing operations through process optimization, technical problem-solving, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational support. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, equipment performance, and cost effectiveness. The role is responsible for driving operational excellence through data analysis, process improvements, and implementation of best practices.

Process Specialist (Fittings)

Location: Tyler, TX

Pay: $36.09/hour

Shift Hours: 1st or 2nd Shift, as needed

What You’ll Do

Process Improvement & Optimization

  • Analyze manufacturing processes to improve throughput, efficiency, and overall performance.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, waste, and process variation.
  • Establish, monitor, and maintain process parameters and operating standards.
  • Collect and analyze process data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement approved process improvements.

Production & Technical Support

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams.
  • Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for production, quality, and downtime issues.
  • Support startup activities, line balancing, capacity improvements, and process validation.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist with employee training and standardization of work practices.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead initiatives focused on labor efficiency, equipment utilization, throughput, and cost reduction.
  • Reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and other manufacturing losses.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Implement and sustain operational best practices.

Equipment, Quality & Compliance

  • Optimize machine settings, process controls, and equipment performance.
  • Partner with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Evaluate automation opportunities and support equipment trials.
  • Monitor process capability, product quality, and key quality trends.
  • Support quality investigations, corrective actions, and defect reduction efforts.
  • Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in risk assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production and process data.
  • Develop reports, performance metrics, and KPI tracking tools.
  • Communicate operational performance results to leadership.
  • Recommend corrective actions and improvement opportunities based on performance trends.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and manufacturing experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with process improvement, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a production environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to analyze production data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing reporting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment.
