This role performs hands-on engineering work-including modeling, drafting, technical analysis, and validation testing-and collaborates closely with Operations, Foundry, Quality, and Sales to ensure products meet performance, manufacturability, quality, and compliance goals.\nThe Product Engineer helps advance a proactive, solution-oriented culture aligned with The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.\nThis is a salaried position, with an excellent benefits package with health, life, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, vacation, holiday pay and 401(k).\nTake a tour of Tyler Union here.\nAll candidates offered employment must submit to a drug screen, physical, and background check. \n\n General Duties and Responsibilities\nPromote and uphold The McWane Way principles, values, and behaviors.\nAdhere to safety protocols outline in the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.\nAssist managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.\nWear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).\nFollow ergonomic and safe lifting techniques.\nPerform daily equipment inspections and report any issues.\nJob Specific Duties and Responsibilities ( Other duties may be assigned.)\nProduct Design & DevelopmentCreate and update 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications for true grip products and related components\nAssist with tooling design, simulation, dimensional analysis, and manufacturability improvements\nSupport engineering reviews, product modifications, and engineering change processes\nConduct root-cause analysis for field issues, customer complaints, and internal quality concerns\nSupport cost-reduction and value-engineering initiatives\n\nTesting, Compliance & Quality AssuranceExecute product validation tests, dimensional checks, and performance evaluations\nPrepare test reports and technical documentation\nEnsure product designs comply with applicable industry standards (XYZ)\nAssist with third-party testing, certification reviews, and audits\n\nCross-Functional SupportWork with Foundry and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure designs align with casting, machining, and assembly capabilities\nCollaborate with Quality on inspection standards, control plans, and continuous improvement activities\nProvide technical product support to Sales, Customer Service, and customers, as needed\nPartner with Supply Chain and Procurement regarding raw materials, tooling, and vendor capabilities\n\nProduct SupportSupport engineering schedules, milestones, and deliverables\nAssist with documentation for new product introductions, change notices, and product releases\nMaintain organized design files, test data, and engineering records\n\n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and/or Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.\n2-5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (metals, castings, machined components, or similar).\nProficiency with 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).\nKnowledge of casting processes, machining, coatings, assembly, and inspection methods preferred\nMaster’s degree in engineering or engineering management, preferred.\nUnderstanding of waterworks products and industry standards is a plus\nCompetencies\nProblem Solving: Identifies and resolves issues collaboratively; develops effective solutions.\nCommunication: Speaks and writes clearly; presents ability to present technical information clearly.\nTeamwork: Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.\ngoals\nEHS Commitment: Promotes a safe and compliant work environment.\nInnovation: Demonstrates creativity and ownership in driving continuous improvement.\nTechnical Expertise: Solid understanding of engineering principles, product design, and manufacturing processes.\nPhysical & Cognitive Abilities\nThis role involves frequent physical activity, including climbing, walking, standing, stooping, balancing, and handling tools and materials. Employees must be able to lift to 50 pounds, as needed.\nThe work environment varies between a standard office setting and a manufacturing plant. Plant conditions may include exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.\nRegular walks through the plant are required.
