For more information, visit www.mda.space.\nThe Role:\nAs our Embedded Software Engineer/MTS, you will be instrumental in using your skill and experience as part of a team to design, implement, maintain, and test safety critical, real-time flight software solutions that are modular, extendable, testable, and efficient. You will lead difficult and complicated subsystem designs and implementations helping to grow the skills of more junior teammates through mentoring and coaching.\nJob Responsibilities:\n Design, implement, and test embedded applications.\nEnsure designs are documented and well communicated.\nCollaborate with other engineering disciplines (Systems, controls, electrical) to develop requirements/solutions.\nReview the work of teammates.\nElicit requirements from various stakeholders/documents.\nMentor and grow the skills of more junior team members via conversations, review of work products, explanation of design tradeoffs, etc.\nSupport/Lead estimation efforts for new tasks.\nCollaborate with other seniors and management on the establishment, evolution, and enforcement of standards for coding, tools/environments, processes, etc.\nOther duties as will be assigned from time to time by management or a team lead.\nRequired Skills/Experience:\nStrong knowledge of C/C++\n5+ years of relevant experience\nSolutions implemented on bare metal.\nProven ability to design and implement embedded software.\nHands on experience with one or more of the following: FPGAs, RAM, ROM, Flash, and Microcontrollers\nStrong written/verbal communication skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nBachelor’s or Graduate degree in software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science\nBeneficial Skills/Experience:\nReal time Operating systems.\nObject oriented programming.\nCommunications interfaces (SPI, EtherCAT, CANOpen, etc.)\nFamiliarity with System on a Chip and integration with FPGAs\nTest driven development.\nContinuous integration/build automation\nSuccessful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.\nMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at all locations.
