We would love to hear from you!\nThe Role:\nThe Intermediate DevOps Specialist is a core member of our Satellite Operations team, responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations to ensure seamless deployment and operation of software systems that support the CHORUS satellite mission. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with Satellite Operation Specialists and other stakeholders to implement and support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that automate software build, test, and delivery for our satellite operations systems. You will work closely with Cyber Security and SecOps to ensure that CI/CD pipelines integrate with code quality and code security static analysis tools, as well as open source software vulnerability scanners, to maintain the highest level of security and integrity. Additionally, you will collaborate with Software Developers to integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless and efficient testing and deployment of software updates. As a member of our DevOps practice, you will be expected to contribute to the continuous learning and continuous improvement process, helping to evolve and improve our DevOps processes, practices, and tools to adapt to changing technological and business needs that support the success of our satellite missions.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign and implement automated pipelines that integrate with multiple tools and systems, from code commit to build, test, and deployment\nAutomate the deployment of software applications into existing production environments, including databases, message queues (e.g. Kafka), and cloud-specific services (e.g. AWS Lambda, EKS, Managed Services)\nUtilize infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) to deploy and manage AWS equivalent services for storage, networking, and servers\nManage and automate the configuration of DNS, Public Key Infrastructure (Certificates), and Active Directory\nCollaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of automated pipelines with existing development workflows\nEnsure the security and integrity of automated pipelines and deployments, following industry best practices and compliance standards\nContinuously monitor and improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of automated pipelines and deployments\nCollaborate with IT and Cloud Architecture to implement Infrastructure as Code to enable the automation of infrastructure deployment and configuration\nCollaborate with Cyber Security and Security Architecture team to implement software security policies to prevent security breaches and other vulnerabilities\nSupport IT by contributing to the design and implementation of deployment of monitoring and observability tools to improve operational efficiency\nRequirements:\nUniversity degree in technical discipline, preferably in the areas of computer science, information technology or engineering. Degrees in other Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields will also be considered.\n3+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, SRE, or systems administration\nStrong knowledge of automation tools and technologies, including:\nContainerization (e.g. Docker) and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes)\nInfrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)\nCloud-specific services (e.g. AWS Lambda, EKS, Managed Services)\nMessage queues (e.g. Kafka) and streaming technologies\nDNS, Public Key Infrastructure (Certificates), and Active Directory\nExperience with scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash) and automation frameworks (e.g. Ansible, SaltStack)\nStrong understanding of software development life cycles, including agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) principles\nKnowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm (or equivalents)\nExcellent verbal and written communication(Contact with customers outside Quebec)\nExperience with source control tools such as GitLab\nExperience with CI / CD tools such as Jenkins or GitCI\nDesirable:\nExperience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM\nKnowledge of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g. NIST 800-171, CIS guidelines)\nExperience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g. ELK, Grafana, Prometheus)\nCertification in cloud computing (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) or related technologies\nKnowledge of highly secure environments following NIST 800-171 and/or CIS guidelines\nExperience in partially air-gapped environments with limited internet access\nCloud platform certification\nComments/Special Considerations:\n Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the secret status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)\nMDA provides competitive compensation and benefits packages for its employees at all locations.
