We have an exciting opportunity for a senior structural engineer to serve as a technical leader within our dams, hydropower, and water resources team. \nResponsibilities include:\nLeading the design of hydraulic structures and other structural engineering projects, including projects related to dams, spillways, canals, pump stations, valve houses, and other hydraulic structures.\n\nServing as a project manager responsible for scope, schedule and budget.\n\nOverseeing the preparation of plans, calculations, specifications, and other design documents for bidding and construction.\n\nServing as an engineer in responsible charge of reviewing, approving, and applying professional engineering seals to final plans, specifications, and reports. \n\nPerforming condition assessments of existing structures.\n\nEvaluating and analyzing existing structures.\n\nConducting field inspections of project sites to assess existing conditions.\n\nSupporting construction administration for projects in construction. \n\nMentoring and providing guidance to less experienced team members.\n\nProviding QA/QC.\n\nClient management.\n\nAttending day and night client meetings as necessary.\n\nConducting necessary travel.\n\nThe successful candidate must have:\nA bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or structural engineering, or architectural engineering (with an emphasis on structures) from an ABET accredited college or university\n\nAt least eight (8) years of relevant structural engineering work experience\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in any state with the ability to obtain a license in California within twelve (12) months of being hired. \n\nThe ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n\nExperience working in a multi-disciplinary project team setting to deliver construction documents and reports.\n\nExperience designing and analyzing hydraulic structures and other water-related structural projects.\n\nStrong technical writing skills and experience writing reports, specifications, and technical memorandums. \n\nBoth client and project management experience.\n\nExperience preparing proposals by developing scopes of work, cost estimates, and project schedules.\n\nKnowledge of California Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 350, and AISC 360.\n\nExperience with Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Manuals related to hydraulic structures and FERC Engineering Guidelines. \n\nExperience with seismic evaluations and earthquake resistant designs.\n\nExperience with structural engineering software programs including finite element analysis and CAD programs such as RISA 3D, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.\n\nMentoring experience.\n\nA Structural Engineer (SE) license.\n\nIf you have strong communication and organizational
