This individual will be responsible for leading design efforts, overseeing project delivery, and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires deep technical knowledge of mission-critical HVAC, cooling, and mechanical infrastructure systems, as well as a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams through design, coordination, and construction phases.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as Engineer of Record (EOR) for mechanical design on data center projects.\nLead the design and engineering of HVAC, chilled water, and other mission-critical cooling systems.\nDevelop, review, and approve technical drawings, specifications, and submittals.\nCoordinate with internal design teams and external stakeholders including clients, architects, and contractors.\nOversee mechanical design from concept through construction, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.\nConduct system analyses, equipment selections, and energy efficiency evaluations.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.\nManage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality outcomes.\nReview and seal design documents as required under state licensure.\nSupport business development efforts through proposal writing, client presentations, and technical input.\nQualifications\n8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, with at least 5 years focused on data centers or mission-critical facilities.\nMaster's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required and in good standing.\nDemonstrated experience acting as Engineer of Record (EOR) for mechanical systems.\nStrong leadership skills with proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.\nIn-depth knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy modeling principles.\nProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trace 700).\nExcellent communication and client-facing skills.\nExperience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects.\nKnowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices.\nFamiliarity with commissioning processes and field inspections.\nCompensation & Benefits:\nThis position is available to candidates residing in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NV, OH, OK, SC, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV. Compensation and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements and may vary based on location and applicable laws. The pay range for this position will be provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws.
