the Role\nWe are currently looking for a Hydraulics Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and install hydraulic systems and components on the company’s fleet, material-handling equipment, trailers, and other logistics-related machinery.\nMinimum Requirements:\nGrade 12 / Matric or equivalent.\nRelevant qualification in hydraulics, mechanical engineering, fitting and turning, or a related technical field.\n3-5 years’ relevant experience in hydraulic maintenance and repair.\nPractical experience working on mobile hydraulic equipment, commercial vehicles, trailers, or material-handling equipment.\nAbility to read and interpret hydraulic diagrams and technical documentation.\nValid driver's licence.\nStrong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.\nExperience in a logistics, transport, fleet, warehousing, or heavy-equipment environment.\nExperience with tail lifts, loading systems, tipping equipment, compactors, truck-mounted equipment, or similar systems.\nHydraulic hose assembly experience.\nWelding and basic fabrication skills.\nExperience with preventive maintenance systems or CMMS.\nStrong knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.\nHydraulic pressure and flow testing.\nMechanical fault-finding.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDiagnose hydraulic faults using appropriate testing equipment and technical procedures.\nInspect, repair, replace, and maintain hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, hoses, pipes, fittings, and related components.\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic systems.\nConduct hydraulic pressure, flow, and leakage tests.\nStrip, rebuild, and test hydraulic cylinders and other hydraulic components.\nManufacture and replace hydraulic hoses and fittings where required.\nIdentify the root cause of hydraulic failures and recommend corrective action.\nCarry out hydraulic repairs on trucks, trailers, tail lifts, compactors, loading equipment, forklifts, and other fleet or warehouse equipment.\nRead and interpret hydraulic schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.\nInspect equipment for potential hydraulic safety hazards.\nMaintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and equipment downtime.\nEnsure all repairs comply with company maintenance procedures and applicable health and safety requirements.\nWork closely with mechanics, electricians, fleet controllers, and operations personnel to minimise vehicle and equipment downtime.\nMaintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and the workshop in a safe and orderly condition.\nProvide technical input when sourcing replacement hydraulic components.\nAssist with emergency breakdowns and field repairs when required.\nApply for This Role Back to
