Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site.Originates new residential mortgage loans. Establishes and maintains relationships with realtors, builders and other referral partners in order to develop and retain existing business and new mortgage lending business for the bank, including conventional residential mortgage and a strong portfolio product line.\nDevelops effective referral sources to generate loans. Connects with borrowers and obtains necessary information to accurately complete a loan application and maintains strict confidentiality with the information received. Collects and reviews required documentation and information necessary for processing and approval of the mortgage loan request. Maintains appropriate communication with borrower(s), referral sources and key stakeholders, throughout the loan application process to ensure approval and closing in a timely manner as well as be in compliance with banking and government regulations. Professionally represents the bank in the community and refers clients for other banking services as appropriate. Keeps informed on trends and developments in the local real estate market as well as the changing rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages.\nWhat you will do:\nDevelops and maintains relationships with referral sources such as realtors, builders, and other referral partners, etc., to increase mortgage-lending activities.\nDeveloping and maintaining internal relationships to create cross-sell opportunities by leveraging the mortgage transaction. Calls on prospective customers and explains loan products and services.\nPrepares required pipeline reports for department administrative purposes.\nCorresponds with or interviews applicant or others (e.g. creditors) to resolve questions regarding applicant information. Submits loan package to processing for underwriting and coordinates necessary activities and gathering of supporting documents for obtaining approval.\nAnalyzes applicant financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan. Works with processing and underwriting to ensure all questions are answered and/or to resolve mortgage related problems.\nInterviews applicant and requests specific information and/or documentation for mortgage loan application.\nCoordinates activities with loan processor and borrower(s) to ensure that proper documentation and verification is obtained.\nWorks with the closing department to ensure that the loan is successfully closed.\nWho you are:\nHigh School or GED required.\n3 years minimum of related experience in lending and banking preferred.\nAdditional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.\nProficient with: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Encompass Loan Originating System (LOS).\nPossess excellent human relations, communications and business writing skills.\nAbility to work effectively without direct supervision.\nPossess effective time management and organizational skills.\nDemonstrates teamwork in facilitating workflow.\nHigh level of cooperation with others and is responsive to the Bank’s needs.\nExemplary motivation, enthusiasm, professionalism and team skills.\nDemonstrates with excellent customer service skills.\nAbility to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines, reporting requirements and training responsibilities.\nExhibit high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information.\nMust be able to travel throughout bank’s footprint to perform required duties (less than 25%).\nADA Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
