The Director, Data & Integrations - EDI owns client timelines for new development work, governs ticket intake and documentation standards in the team's Jira instance, facilitates CDM design sessions, and leads architecture decisions for CDM and extract changes. The Director, Data & Integrations - EDI mentors and cross-trains team members and represents the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\nOversee and prioritize the work efforts of the EDI development team\nEnsure client timelines are understood and maintained for new development work\nWork closely with the Implementation Team Lead and Operations Team Lead, and participate in client calls as needed, to coordinate requirements, timelines, technical issues, implementation activities, and operational support\nOversee EDI Jira instance processes, activities, and access; validate that EDI tickets contain appropriate documentation and are ready and properly queued for work\nFacilitate CDM design sessions and evaluate fit-for-purpose approaches based on EHR requirements by type\nLead architecture for changes and modifications to legacy CDMs and extracts\nAct as architect/shepherd for new EDI capabilities built by team members (e.g., event-driven list maintenance), providing technical direction and design guidance\nOwn, maintain, and promote department standards and coding practices to ensure consistency, quality, maintainability, and alignment across EDI solutions\nCoordinate Mirth Connect renewal, upgrade planning, and cross-team implementation activities for effective upgrades to Mirth tooling\nMentor and cross-train EDI team members; coordinate backup coverage during planned absences to maintain operational continuity\nRepresent the EDI team in Agile Scrum planning, backlog discussions, sprint reviews, and status reporting to management\nProduce and maintain automated reporting that loads active Jira entities and accounts into Jira Assets in support of the Product Support Portal, including related research and maintenance\nProduce quarterly Source Authority output for contractual reporting related to licensed third-party data\nCoordinate responses to ad-hoc operational data questions about imports and extracts\nFunction as technical liaison with technical contacts at trading partners and other organizations, including escalated or complex items\nOther duties as assigned\nUse, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards\nUnderstand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times\nLimit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties\n\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science; or equivalent industry experience\n7 years of experience in Data Integrations and 3-4 years experience in Healthcare \n2+ years leadership experience required\nHands-on experience with Mirth Connect required\n5+ years’ experience in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL required\n5+ years’ experience with C#, TypeScript, JavaScript or Java required\nSoftware troubleshooting experience and knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws\nDemonstrable experience implementing enterprise-scale, high volume, high availability systems\nDemonstrated ability to deliver major critical projects\nExperience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially developing functional requirements, software development, and unit testing; experience with software development methodologies, including Agile\nExperience providing leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a group\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with expert knowledge of Excel\nStrong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization\nStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses\nHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills required\nPreferred Experience\nFamiliarity with ANSI ASC X12 file standards with emphasis on the healthcare related formats: 837P,837I, 835, and 834\nFamiliarity with HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange formats, including HL7 v2 messaging, is preferred\nExperience with PowerShell or Bash/Linux shell scripting\nFamiliarity with open-source databases like PostgreSQL\nExperience in Test Driven Development and automated unit testing\nTwo years of experience working on Agile teams with experience in developing Epics, user stories, acceptance criteria\nKnowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, Feature Driven Development (FDD) is a plus\nExperience with Elasticsearch and/or MongoDB is a plus\nExperience programming with Java and Maven\nMicrosoft SQL Server certification is a plus\nMirth Certification is a plus\nAzure experience is a plus\n\nWorking Conditions\nMust possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes\nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area;
