The Supervisor, Inpatient Coding Auditing – Academy acts as the primary liaison between coders, QA, and Training teams to maintain high-quality output and operational efficiency.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\nSupervise inpatient coding team to meet daily/weekly productivity and accuracy targets.\nMonitor work queues, turnaround times (TAT), and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs)\nAllocate workloads based on coder capacity and account priorities; manage escalations effectively\nEnsure compliance with ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, UHDDS standards, and client-specific requirements\nTrack coder performance metrics (productivity, accuracy, attendance) and provide timely feedback\nConduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective action plans for underperforming coders\nCollaborate with QA team to address error trends and support coder remediation plans\nIdentify bottlenecks and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce rework\nSupport automation initiatives and ensure coders are trained on updated workflows and tools\nMaintain operational dashboards and provide data-driven insights to leadership\nPartner with QA Supervisors and Educators to align audit findings, glidepaths, and training interventions\nCoordinate with client teams for operational updates, reporting, and compliance requirements\nParticipate in leadership meetings to discuss operational performance and strategic initiatives\nEnsure coders adhere to HIPAA-equivalent privacy and organizational security protocols\nStay updated on coding guideline changes and cascade updates to the team promptly\nOther duties as assigned\nUse, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards\nUnderstand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times\nLimit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in health information management, Nursing, or related field required\nMust have CCS/CIC certification\n3 years solid inpatient DRG supervisory experience (ICD-10-CM/PCS, MS-DRG) required\nMust have strong understanding of DRG validation, POA reporting, and UHDDS standards\nWorkflow management, SLA adherence, productivity optimization.\nTechnical knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG grouping, encoder tools.\nPrior experience supervising, coaching, conflict resolution, performance management\nKnowledge of KPI tracking, trend analysis, reporting\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite\nStrong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization\nStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses\nHigh level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results oriented \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills required\nGracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction\n\nWorking Conditions\nSchedule flexibility for cross-geo collaboration.\nMust possess a smart-phone or electronic device capable of downloading applications, for multifactor authentication and security purposes\nPhysical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area;
