You will build backend services and APIs that doctors, nurses, and patients rely on every day. This is a role for engineers who want to learn fast in a small, high-caliber team. You will work alongside experienced engineering managers and senior engineers. We move with startup energy, but in healthcare quality is non-negotiable, so you will learn to build software that is fast to ship and safe to trust.\n\nResponsibilities: \nDesign, build, test, and ship backend services and APIs in Java (Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI), with guidance from senior engineers.\nWrite clean, well-tested, and maintainable code; take part in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback.\nUnderstand the components of the systems you work on, including databases, caches such as Redis, and message queues such as Kafka, and why each is used.\nModel data and write efficient queries on relational databases such as PostgreSQL.\nDebug and fix issues across development and production, and contribute to monitoring and reliability.\nWork closely with product managers, designers, and senior engineers to understand requirements and the clinical workflows behind them.\nAsk questions, think independently, and constructively challenge designs when something does not add up.\nUse AI coding assistants and agents throughout development for planning, implementing, testing, and refactoring, while owning every line you ship.\nFollow secure coding and data-privacy practices for systems that handle patient data, including audit trails, role-based access control, and encryption of sensitive data.\n\nRequirements: \n1-2 years of software development experience at a product company, startup, or technology services company, with exposure to a real development workflow including version control, code reviews, testing, and deployments.\nStrong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming, databases, and operating systems and networking basics.\nProficiency in Java or Python.\nHands-on use of AI coding assistants and agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in day-to-day development, including writing effective prompts, breaking tasks down for an agent, and rigorously reviewing and testing what it produces.\nA clear understanding of the project you currently work on, including its design, the components used, and the reasons behind those choices.\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to explain your thinking clearly while solving a problem.\nGood written and verbal communication.\nA builder's mindset: excited to build from the ground up, comfortable with ambiguity, and keen to take ownership.\nA product mindset with curiosity about how hospitals work and care for the outcome for the user, not just the ticket.\nDepth over frequent switches;
