This position is located in the Charlottetown fleet centre. The incumbent is expected to conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner.\nThe Fleet Maintenance/Runner is responsible to ensure all ambulances and support units are safe, effective, maintained, cleaned and stocked in accordance with policies and procedures as stated by Island EMS.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nThe position entails, but is not limited to the following:\nCompile and maintain lists of all mechanical, medical and cleaning parts and supplies as required\nFollow IEMS standard operational procedures for inventory and stock management\nGeneral base and vehicle maintenance\nOperate under the Supervisor and Operations Manager to complete and participate in quarterly inspections\nDriving company vehicles to IEMS bases, automotive centres, and other locations where required\nEnsure all ambulances and company vehicles based out of the Fleet centre are stocked\nOperate all vehicles in accordance with policies of IEMS;\nConduct reasonable on-going cleanliness of ambulance bay during scheduled shift and at least once a week clean the center completely\nPrepare fleet assets including ambulances, support units and specialized trailer for various events throughout the province;\nSecuring the ambulance bay daily and ensures all units are powered down and secure\nTake instruction and direction operationally from Fleet Manager and Fleet Supervisor\nTake direction procedurally from General Manager of PEI Operations\nPerform other such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required or assigned.\nSalary:\nCasual; $21.00 Hourly\nQualifications and Requirements: \nMinimum Grade 12 education\nValid class 4 license , or ability and willingness to obtain\nExperience working within vehicle maintenance or inventory control processing, and/or preventive maintenance programs is an asset\nGood dexterity, general health, eyesight and physical coordination\nDriver's abstract completed within the last 60 days\nCriminal record check completed within the last 60 days\nEffective oral and written communication skills\nExcellent multitasking ability\nStrong organization\nStrong customer service\nProfessionalism\nDisplays good decision-making skills and takes initiative\nAbility to crouch, stand for long periods, bend and lift upwards of 50lbs\nWHMIS or willing to obtain\nFirst Aid an asset\nAble to report to work in the event of a major incident in accordance with the IEMS MCI Plan\nSteel toe work shoes are required\nThis position will be available for 12 months, with possible extension. Company uniform is to be worn at all times while on shift. Training will be provided to the successful applicant upon hire.\nIrregular work schedules possibly shift work and overtime as needed. Service centers can be cluttered, greasy, and dirty at times. The employee will spend various periods of sitting, standing, walking, crouching, lifting, and/or carrying light objects.
